I picked this cabinet up and it looks like it would be a great candidate for a Frogger installation. Not sure how much the CP is original to whatever game this was with the extra buttons, but I did notice that players 1 & 2 start have always been separated. Out of curiosity, anyone know what the original game probably was by looking at CP?

Lastly, if I went forward with Frogger for this cabinet, what does everyone think of the blue sides? I put up a marquee to show that coincidentally there is a decent tie-in of blues between the sides and marquee. Should I focus on black, woodgrain sides? Would like to hear your thoughts.

Any thoughts?

You could spread feces over the sides of a cab and a woodgrain Sega cab would still look shittier. The blue is definitely an improvement.

Thanks for the feedback. After the other thread and your opinion, I think I will NOT go woodgrain. Still not sure if I would repaint black though. I might superimpose the side art on the blue and see if that looks good.

You know you wanna do this'!!!!!!!!!

As dull as the wood grain is and as flashy the above picture looks; I personally feel that if you're going to RESTORE it, you would do so as the manufacturer implemented. Otherwise, it's a modification and not a restoration.

I would mod it as the picture above. It looks pretty damn cool. Personally, I'd use orange t-molding instead of the blue. Also, I'd leave the speaker and bezel black. It distracts from the main display.

My 2¢,
Juan

Noob here, so apologies in advance. Is there a restoration FAQ I'm missing somewhere? Specifically, I've got a cabinet in decent shape that has soe paint and old vinyl sideart remnants and some of that lovely woodgrain sh## on the side. Would prefer matte black. Should I use vinyl or paint? If paint, what brand/type/application methods, etc? In either case, how to prep (i.e. sanding, priming, etc)? For those minor patches/repairs, what specific Bondo do you resto gurus use?
