I have more machines than outlets currently, and I think the power strips in the (g)arcade are maxxed out.

One of my options currently is to run an extension cord out of the (g)arcade under the garage door, out to another outlet that is on the front of the house.

I want to get these other outlets installed but for me it's at least $25 an outlet for all of the material and I just haven't had the extra cash to do 2 or 3 new outlets.

But it looks like people may be coming over for Xmas and I'd like to have all of the games powered up.

What do you do to get power to your game room until you have things done the *right* way?

Exactly what you are contemplating. I determined that my office is on a different circuit, so I ran an extension cord to my office to power a row of games. Looking down at the extension cord, now I know who stole that green extension cord I have been looking for to put in the Christmas lights

I think whoever wired up the power in my house expected the residents to maybe use each plug to run a nite lite and nothing more. I learned long ago that the plugs are UNDER-amped. I tried plugging in an air compressor to use for doing car bodywork, and the stupid thing would blow the circuit in like 10 min. And it was designed for 110V! My brother in law actually had the same problem at his house.

I'm really happy I've learned how to install outlets on my own, but I'm currently running into 2 concerns:

1. the one I mentioned about the cost of the materials right now (I can get them after Xmas but that doesn't help me for my Xmas gathering)
2. I am quickly running out of slots for the circuit breakers- we may end up needing a second box!

i went to home depot the other day and picked up one of those 6 way surge protectors that plugs into both wall outlets. then run another surge off of that?? idk if thats gonna overload or what, I picked that up with those remotes everyones using and got 3 on one with no problem, idk about 2 loaded surge protectors off of that one outlet though like i said

NOT A PIC OF ACTUAL ITEM.

^^ similar, different brand, but it doubles as a surge protector the one I bought

**they had a few with different sizes, meaning one was for a small office, one for a theater and one other all capable of more power

1 thing to be aware of is that outside outlets are very commonly connected to the garage circuit

As for your air compressor, those things are not 15 amp devices. The only reason they put a 15 amp plug on is because nobody would buy them if they put a 20 amp plug
