So we found a very affordable plastic molder who seems to be doing a good job of building molds..... So the question becomes, what part should we do?

I am not going down the path of RC and building whole controllers, but we have a decent collection of machine shops and mold shops that do stuff for us and I thought I would seek input.
Here are some of my thoughts:
1) Monroe Sticks
2) Tron/Satan's Hollow cocktail sticks
3) Old school leaf buttons

What do you think???

Great options there...
There seems to be a HUGE void in replacement leaf switches/actuators/etc

Same can be said about the trigger ball tops used in Tron and SH as you mentioned.

-Could also do a run of paperboy hand grips as I think the last person to do them is either now out of stock or their stock is quickly diminishing with no plans to rerun them.

-Affordable Nintendo style buttons

I'd be down for any of the above if prices were reasonable

Thanks for the suggestions!
I would prefer to do things that no one has and I think Mikesarcade has Ninty buttons....
the hand grips would be interesting...
Trigger ball tops are kind of my favorites so far though.

Reasonable is always a subjective thing, I always try to keep prices reasonable but any plastic mold has an initial investment cost, the only good thing is that these guys are not 15-20k just to get one part!

If they can do large format stuff, perhaps you can do reproduction duramold cabinets ;)

Bill was bugging me about those...hmmm ok, I think it must get added to the cue....
They should actually be quite easy to do, it's just a matter of getting my guy to do less than 2k runs of each color!

I don't think you'd have a prob getting rid of 2k+ if the quality/look/finish is there. Lots of folks still using their cigarette-burned buttons since they cannot locate them anywhere.

Might also look into Arkanoid spinner rebuild kits as well(small gears, nylon bushings, etc). I think something like that would be very successful for you as well.

I don't know how much demand there may be for them, but it would be nice if the plastic grip parts for Boot Hill and Gun Fight were available, they're pretty thin and tend to get cracked.

I think the biggest "sure fire" pick would be accurately reproduced Nintendo buttons. They need to be the correct color and shape and also the right size to fit in the smaller Nintendo holes. Right now there is nothing out there that compares.

Aren't Assault handles already available from Happ?
Gorf as well?

Battlezone, I thought someone was working on.

I think that was Phineas and that he bailed on making parts.

I'd love to see some made out of super durable plastic that wouldn't crack. I'd love even more to have them made out of metal... I'm tired of replacing mine.
