if you have a Wii, try the Williams and Gottlieb emulators for that platform. they are actually pretty good, and will give you and your wife an idea of the play on some of the machines. it's different than in real life, of course (notably the aspect ratio on a TV or computer is in the wrong direction, so they don't show you the whole playfield at once, or at least in the same detail it would be when actually playing) but at least you learn about how the game works, etc. there are similar emulators for xbox, ps2/3, computer games, etc.
