So I see that RGP is still pretty active. Why hasn't everyone moved over to something more modern? Or have they and I just haven't found it yet?

So since a lot of ISP's are no longer providing Usenet access, and Google doesn't seem to want to allow people to properly mask their e-mail addresses when posting to Usenet... Are people paying one of the Usenet providers in order to post to RGP? Or is everyone just using Google to post and hoping for the best?

I'd been wondering the same thing Jehuie as I used to post every so often on RGP, but its hard to tell if the interest died down, which I highly doubt, or if people moved over to a more modern setup.

I use the Vectrex one rec.games.vectrex a lot in the Google Groups (I know it's not RGP but it's similar) and no they don't charge money for people to use it.
I find a decent amount of traffic there still.

I'm an old-school RGP'er, but as mentioned above haven't used it recently. I've been using KLOV, BYOAC, the Neo-Geo.com Forums, Shoryuken.com Forums, and stumbled across the GamesForum.ca stuff in this thread (looks pretty active too).

Some other forums in my bookmarks that I don't hit as much, but might be worthwhile:
Arcade Otaku (Wiki and Forums), New Life Games, and ClassicArcadeGaming.com

How the hell do you register with Games Forum?

I tried 2 different times, never got a confirmation and my account has never been activated. Also sent 3 messages to the admin with no response.

I have been reading here for years, maybe 10 since I got serious(read got money) about collecting and restoring. I actually just joined this year when I got into a project I apparently couldn't handle myself....much easier to do pictures, search posts, locate information here then anywhere else I think

I moved from RGP to here!

It seems like everyone at all the forums should start a discussion of where to land and then all move to one place together. It might be hard (or impossible) to get everyone to agree but it would sure make it nice from a support standpoint to have one single place to go where most people would be able to see the posts.

Most of the knowledge is on RGP. The guys with the knowledge wouldn't move to a forum based system though. Not sure why, I post in both but I post more pinball topics on RGP than here because there are more people to respond.

I think there's some confusion here. The gamesforum.ca "pinball forum" is just an echo of rgp in forum format, NOT a separate pinball forum. Same goes for the rpgarchive.com forum. I'd recommend the rgparchive forum over gamesforum, which seems to be a passive rgp echo. Pinballnirvana.com has some relatively quiet forums.

The busiest.most informative pinball 'forum' would be rgp, either thru usenet or rgparchive. This forum is a decent 2nd place, and has become more active in recent months.

Apparently the folks at rgp don't like bumping threads a more than once a week... I was doing some excessive "WTB" bumps... (like once every other day or so) and I got called out as a spammer... :(

First time that has ever happened to me. It's just that rgp moves so darned fast, stuff gets lost so quickly.

Its all good, I totally get it, I'm not bent about it... it just surprised me at the time.

There is a lot of good stuff over at rgp... if you are looking for something, chances are someone over at rgp can help.

The only confusion is yours. You aren't very familiar with sarcasm are you?
