When I couldn't sell my KICK machine, I tore it down, parted it out as best as I could to the "needy", and put the cab (including a perfectly good tube) out to the corner for trash. I left the tube in it, because I knew if I tried storing it in my garage, it would never last long.

Well, now I could probably use the blasted tube, and it's landfill mulch. Can't get it back, but man I wish I'd had a way to hang onto it now.

What have you junked and could really have used afterward?

My first machine was a Ms. Pac Man and I was a total noob to the hobby. I had bought a new happ monitor for it and threw out the original go7 monitor because it had some burn in on it. Sure wish I had that baby back.

Hate to admit this but my first machine was non-working Star Wars -- and of course I chucked the original Amplifone. Such a noob :(:( Wish I could take that one back many times over.

It is an easily repairable part of gaming history. Throwing it out is akin to tossing out a Pac Man board because you installed a 60 in 1...

When you say this Oryk, you're referring more to the monitor chassis itself (the circuit board), not the tube that it connects to, am I right?

Yes, I am referring to the chassis, frame, etc. However, even the tube is easily replaced on a G07. I have a G07 in my hotel room closet right now with heavy Ms Pac burn. I intend to rebuild the chassis, ensure everything works, and ship everything but the tube back to WA. Once I get it home I have a few spare tubes sitting in my garage waiting for chassis.

Argh I need that tube!!! (see my post in the repair section)

If you want the burnt tube I can bring it to Crab Towne. Like I said, I don't have a use for it.

However, if you want a burn free tube start looking at old 19" televisioin sets. I have found that many of the TV's from the 1980's are compatable with the G07 chassis.

I had an extra Asteroids CT harness that I gave to the thief who was supposed to fix mine and never did. Wish I kept it. It's not exactly trashing, but it is as close as I can get.

A dedicated Star Trek UR cab. At the time I had no idea how uncommon they are. :(

Tell me about it. :( The sideart was scuffed and it was bug-infested and nasty, but the cab was solid. I didn't want to deal with it so I stripped it down and set it out for the giant green jaws. What a punk I was. :p

Chris has thrown away many things I wish I could have back, including an interior plastic Berzerk Bezel. He's also sold many things I was interested in before I could even say I was interested. Sometimes being friends with the guy who parts out the most games isn't as beneficial as you'd think. It actually frustrates and pisses you off more than anything. *sadface*
