What part causes a monitor to take a long time to warm up?

Recently I completely rebuild my K7000 in my Super Hang-On and it looks amazing. I replaced the tube, flyback, hot, and capped it too.

Now it comes on almost instantly. Which is great.

Now I have a 3 monitors that take 10-20 seconds to completely warm up and display an image. Two are G07s and the other is a M7000 in my Space Invaders.

What will fix this? The cap kit (which I already have) or is it the flyback? The tube?? HOT???

An explanation of why this happens would be great too.

FLYBACK and/or TUBE I would suspect before anything else.

Dave.
COINOPSHOP

Ten to twenty seconds? Dude. I know we live in an instant society, but dropping a lot of coin for ten to twenty seconds sounds a bit extreme.

But if you really need those flybacks, I've got them....

Well, when it is working right they come right on. I figure it is a sign that the monitor needs work.

I have a k7000 I capped an changed the fly back on and it seemed to come up quicker but I didn't really give it much thought because it didn't take 20 seconds probably closer to 10 before. Now it's like maybe 3 for full brightness. Is it the fly back? Or is it a combo of caps as well? If you get a definitive answer let me know because now I'm curious.

Yah, I want to know too, as am K7000 is really fast now.

Every single G07 I have in the arcade takes longer than everything else to warm up. Most of them have new caps and flybacks too. Maybe it's just how g07s work? You can walk down a row after turning them on and see which are G07.

Interesting that you say that as it is my G07s that are slow.

There are a lot of factors involved. Warm-up time for the caps, absolutely. But, the heater in the tube coming up to full temperature, that's also very important.

Don't forget, these were meant to be turned on, and stay on, for hours. I know that everyone wants to play right NOW NOW NOW NOW in a home environment, but it's not feasible.

It sounds, to me, like everything is working perfectly.

Haha, so is mine.

It had a complete rebuild about 2 years ago and it wasn't any faster to warm up. It's maybe 20 sec before I have a halfway reasonable picture.

Now I feel better about my G07. :)

i have one i fully rebuilt 1 year ago. I recently turned it on and now takes a couple of minutes for the fuzzyness to go away
