When I rescued my Gauntlet from a conversion years ago I kept the JAMMA wiring and made a Gauntlet to JAMMA adapter instead. Then I put one of Mike's arcade double JAMMA switchers in it so I could run my Simpson's PCB as well. That's all worked out great so far, but I'm getting a little bored with Simpson's and was wondering what other games would be appropriate to run in it's place. I'm looking for other 4-player JAMMA games with two buttons. I know TMNT would plug and play easily being that it's Konami as well, but what other games do you think would be a good fit?

I've actually done the exact same thing in my 2 Gauntlet cabinets.
I added pieces of press board to the one side and the back portion of the coin boxes and attached the boards to the press board and used a siungle jamma harness and linked the 4 games through the jamma harness.
My Gauntlet I've got:
Gauntlet
The Simpsons
TMNT
TMNT: TIT
Captain America and the Avengers

My Gauntlet 2 I've got:
Gauntlet 2
Splatterhouse
Battletoads
Sunset Riders
Spiderman

The only other game I was looking to add was The Cowboys of Moo Mesa.

That sounds like a cool setup, Shawn... do you happen to have any pictures of your setup? I'd be interested in rigging something like that up. Do you have them all wired simultaneously or do you just disconnect/reconnect the JAMMA harness to whichever game you want to play? If they're all hooked up how do you select the game?

Thanks for the input, fellas... Any other games that might work out there? Since I can't buy ALL these games, what is the consensus on which game should be bought first (based on fun, availability, and cost)?

my first empty gauntlet cab had gold medalist art on it.. my gauntlet in the shed has crime fighters in it. I need to test the boards, then sell it, i'm converting back to gauntlet.

I'd never played Sunset Riders before so I just checked it out in MAME and it seems pretty fun. How available are these and what's a reasonable price for a board? ...for that matter does anyone have any of these games mentioned for sale?

I never really thought of adding games to my Gauntlet before. This is a great idea! I definitely want some of these other 4-player games, but I really don't want to devote so much extra space to them.

So, any pics of the inside of your cab?

The inside of my cabinet is like a rat's nest. ;-) when I "restored it" I never paid much attention to the inside and there's wires leading everywhere. If I were to ever sell it I'd have to give a seminar on what everything is and does. "Organized chaos" is probably a good description.

That said, if I were to ever add more boards to it I'd have to do some rearranging. As it is I have the gauntlet boards where they're supposed to be and my Simpsons board attached to the opposite side. I like the idea of fabricating a shelving set-up to host multiple boards and may have to look in to that.

mine was/still is converted to a 4P Xmen but was a Crime Fighters at some point. Honestly it's too much fun keeping it a 4P jamma cab right now but I may give in and wire it back to Gauntlet when I get better at repairing games...

great to know this stuff....i am seriously considering a gauntlet cab as my next purchase...my space is limited so its gonna be that or a multi defender

I dunno if I would start with a gauntlet cab. It's only a 19" screen and the CP is pretty cramped. I would start with a Konami Cab instead and then just add a JAMMA'd Gauntlet board to it.
