I was wondering if you could fit a normal shelf mounted 19" monitor in this cab withno real modifications needed. Something like a g07 shelf mount, or wg7k

I think the frame would be in the way of the door.
You could always get a Sanyo frame and swap the tube and chassis, then it would go right in.

you can fit a go7 or other monitor as long as you have a vertical monitor frame. then you just drill holes in the monitor shelf and bolt it in. i had one in my dk many years ago.

Yea but he is asking about a monitor with a shelf mount frame.
If you use a Sanyo monitor then you just need 2 brackets and then you can use the horiz. mounting holes in the cab.

??? i thought other monitors would not work with the nintendo stuff because nintendo used inverted video or something?

when i had the non sanyo monitor in my dk it was jamma wired with clays multijamma in it with dk, dkjr, dk3, 48in1 all with nintendo to jamma adapters.

i do believe you can use a regular monitor in a nintendo game but you have to use the video inverter to switch the signal.

ahhhh ok that makes sense. Ive heard of people modifying a k7000 to work with the original nintendo hardware as well .. gotta do some more research..

I was thinking i can get a nintendo cab and make it a multi. I wanted to put an arcade monitor in it and i have a couple shelf mount ones kicking around i could use.

Maybe i can find a sanyo frame or other vert frame and transplant my tube and chasis to that.

Do you have a 20EZ with the inverter board attached? Just wire it the opposite way.

Better yet, get a Ninty to JAMMA adapter.

have a dkjr with an arcadeshop multi in it. running a g07 vertical frame and it works great. I dont know of any shelf mount monitors that will work (even horz sanyos wont fit)

I can get access to a ez20 with good tube but the chasis is damaged and beyond my ability to repair.

I figured since i was goin to make a multi if i could just swap it easy for a known working monitor with a shelf mount i might give it a go

Sounds like i could either buy a known working chasis for the ez20 with inverter, or send mine off for repair, or swap the tube and chasis to the ez20 frame

Sanyo monitors only came in one type of frame, not counting the early box type.
They work for either vert or horiz mounting.

I was referring to the ones that came in DK style cabs.
Those were made especially for Atari cabs.
They also accept non inverted signals.
