Hi all, I thought that Pacman originally had a G07 in it but I just picked one up that has a monitor that I am unfamiliar with. The reason i ask is that it is not working and I want to make it as original as possible. If I am going to do monitor work I'd like to at least make sure it's the right one:) thanks for any help.

pac

some had go7, some had wg 4600 series
i have a 4600 chassis if you need one

Thanks for the quick replies. Turns out I have a wg 4600. I was hoping for a g07 since my 3 other cabs also have them and I have a couple of cap kits handy but oh well, something new to learn:)

I may have to take you up on the offer if mines bad. I just ordered a cap kit for it and should have it early next week. Is there a way to know if the tube itself is ok or bad? The picture looks as if there is no color, I don't want to say it's completely white, but it illuminates and has a ghost like white across the entire surface. No part of the game is visible but you can hear it playing perfectly.

The best way to know if a tube is okay or bad is to use a tube/crt rejuvenator. In addition to fixing some problems it can do general tests to see if the tube is functioning properly.

i have seen hundreds of pac man and ms pac man and i have never seen one with a stock 4500. the only game that used a stock 4500 was galaxian.

pacs and ms pacs used g07 and 4600 as stock.
same for atari games (except some used hantarex...millipede, food fight, etc)

4900's were stock in some williams games and taito etc.
but they also used g07 and 4600.

r56 will you give me the chassie for free or dirt cheap

Here's the best answer to this question:

19" Color Raster Standard-Resolution

All these game manufacturers used whatever they could get their hands on. They used the big names first (IE: Wells-Gardner, Electrohome)....when the biggie's couldn't meet demand, they went with whoever they could get to fill demand. I've seen factory Zeniths in Ms. Pac-Man (I've got a Wacko with a factory Zenith too). I've had a couple Dig Dug's with factory Sanyo's. Plenty of Matsushita's in Dig Dug, Kangaroo, Pole Position....factory Hantarex in Sinistar's.....and (personally) had two Pac-Man's with WG4500.
I've also had quite a few Pac-man's with harnesses pinned for the 4500 monitor...with a little adapter board to convert it to (what became) the industry standard RGB pinout, a la G-07's, etc.
