I posted already about my Space Invaders on here in that i cracked a plastic piece off the neck and the image got very distorted. Try to get more details on the piece i found i could find a name on the chassis. i was able to find 2 numbers, one the serial and one the model, both i couldn't find who made this particular monitor. can any one help me so i could try to find a fix for my piece.

First picturre is the model number.....XM-501 (I think that's a 5, fuzzy picture and sharpie ink). That's made by Motorola.

is there a replacement or drop in that would work? check out my post space invaders dry rot topic.

A "drop in" replacement.....no. Black & white monitors haven't been made since the early 80'. Guys have hacked in color monitors......and you can always get black & whites on the used market.

.....yeah, I saw your other thread where the yoke broke. I've never seen that happen (definately sucks). Did you loosen the yoke first?

here the thing. i was slowly moving it and the top plastic broke. now when you look at it, it doesn't seem to serve any purpose other then to be mounted on the top. i don't see any severage in wires. all i see is a clean break of the plastic and thats it. i haven't a clue what to do. i thought maybe i could do a drop in with a regular tv. there are plently of old tvs circa late 70s around here but like i said motorola i never heard of making monitors.

As long as the yoke wires arn't broke.....you could super glue it back together. Shouldn't hurt anything.

yeah i tried just basically holding it back in place to see if that would clear up the display isses and it didn't. display worked great until the piece broke off.

I think that's the XM-701, based on the 23VP111A, but that black marker doesn't help.

Check the pins on the neck to see if any are bent or broken off...
