What "modern" driving games came in upright versions?

I'm thinking I need to add a driver to the lineup but I don't have room for a big giant beast of a game. I saw Cruis'in Exotica on location the other day and the cabinet looked cool to me and has a reasonable footprint. So I'm thinking about trying to track one down. But....are there other modern drivers that are better in this form factor?

Also, how much should I expect to pay for an upright Exotica? Not interested in the earlier Cruis'in series games. Anybody have a clue on a fair price for these or how hard they are going to be to come across?

I have seen Need For Speed's in the upright format, don't know how much one of those would cost you. Beyond that, Daytona would last you longer than Cruisin'.

I don't like upright racing. Are you driving a car while standing ? I don't.

I've had both Double Axle (my first dedicated cab ever :) and Power Drift uprights and I seriously liked both games but the standing while racing just doesn't work for me.

I was thinking about a Crazy Taxi upright with one of those "stools". That is a relatively good compromise if you have space issues and still want to sit when racing...

A Hard Drivin' cockpit doesn't take much more space then a regular cab because of the smart way the chair works and there is the upright-with-seat version. Then again, it's not exactly a "modern" driver anymore and a game which not everyone will like.

All this Crazy Taxi talk...I've played it a few times and it was fun. But does it really stand up over time or is it too gimmicky? I was thinking more of a true race driver type thing but the point made about not having two of them linked is very valid. CT might make it more "competitive". I'm not big on Hydro Thunder.....at least it didn't grab me the few times I tried it.

I have an upright Ridge Racer 2. Does the job for me. I would LOVE a sitdown if I had room and I would love a Daytona also. The RR2 cab is a good one to stick between a few other games because the sides are just plain black even though they are dedicated.

I placed an Initial D into it pretty easily (also for sale, I haven't posted it yet...). Would give it more longevity for someone who doesn't have a ton of space for a racer.

Yes that's the nice thing about those cabs, you can put in other games too...I think 18wheeler is another one and IIRC there are more...

Daytona and Sega Super GT were both made in dedicated uprights. I'd love to have a Super GT upright.

A lot of late model drivers like FnF and similar came in kits, so they could be up in an upright if you wanted.

The later Sega games can be found in uprights like that Crazy Taxi shown above. If you have a Naomi 2 setup in it, you can run Crazy Taxi, Jambo Safari, Initial D 1-3, 18 wheeler, and some others I think.

I'm not really a fan of playing a racing game in an upright position, but if you're trying to compromise on space it's a better option than no racing games.

Ok I hate to sound naive here but can someone please explain to me about this Naomi 2 setup thingy? I am completely unfamiliar with this but it sounds intriguing. Is this something where you have to swap boards out? Or is there a way to auto switch between the games?

So far I'm bouncing between the Crazy Taxi and the Rush 2049. Any idea what a fair price would be to pay for either of those in the upright cab?

Naomi and Naomi 2 are a Sega videogame platform that uses either cartridges or GDROM (basically a CDROM) disc. So it's pretty easy to swap between different games.
