I've been trying to find information on this soda machine and I cannot find the exact model number?
Anyone have any ideas?

It is missing a plastic piece by where the coin is inserted and I am wanting to find that piece to put back in there...
It's set and labled for a dime.

Any help is appreciated!

Yep it looks like a vendorlator 56 b. They started out as bottle machines, but were converted to cans. If it has round holes it's a bottle machine. Then it will hold bottled beer ;). If it has the escalator with the pull tabs it's for cans. Very good machine. One of the best square tops. Good find.

Good News! Thanks for the replies.

How often should the compressor kick on? It seems to be running quite often compared to a fridge...

Seals look good, don't feel any cold air blowing from around the door.

It's been on for about 12 hours, COLD. Adjusted the thermostat to 4. Going to have to take a temp to verify.

Also, any sights that anyone recommends for the plastic part?

Yep! This one is uses the glass bottles.
Bought out all the Jolt Cola (did you know there are red and blue flavors???) in the NW Phoenix area! Love it!

It's a real clean machine and works 100%, at least I think it does...
This is the first old soda machine that I've had, and most likely the last! :D

Lol! Yes it will run a bunch! And plan on your electric bill to go up about 20.00 bucks a month! That's the price you pay for such a cool machine. Make sure that it plugs right into an outlet. That thing will pull some power. The end will get hot if you have it on an extension cord. Like I said one of the coolest square top machines. For the part I would watch e-bay. Look under soda or vintage soda machines. Or even under 56 machine. Or parts soda machine. A few sights are good to find parts. If you join a few forums you can ask for parts. It's been a while, but sodajerkworks has a bunch of parts or vintagevending. If you start looking you will find a bunch of stuff. Good luck.

Ha! I think I can splurge an extra $20 on the electricity! ;)

I did not put this on a surge protector, just plugged it into the outlet directly. No extention cords used.

Thanks again, it is a cool looking machine. I have to look around for a good soda forum and the websites that pertain to this machine.

I really appreciate the help and advice!
Makes a damn good nite lite too! Even the door where the bottles are have 2 lights running down the side of it, not to mention the big "marquee" lite up!

I assume you're going to pimp it out with LEDs and powder coat all the metal purple... :D

I received it this way. It's in really good shape!
And no, no pimping this one out. It's not even a pinball....sheeesh.

I'm Jealous.. yours is nice and clean! mine's still in pieces, I actually have the pump and all sat on a roll around cart to keep my garage cool when it gets over 100 and starts baking my brain.. I originally googled a ton and mine still has all the number plates but it came out of Fresno in 1958 heres what mine wiil look like when I'm done; http://www.antiquevend.com/projecthistory/2004CocaColaV56.html

This was the fridge at my fathers shop for years, and it got the hell beat out of it, but it has some sentimental value to me.

Here is what I had. I surprised by everyone thinking they used a lot of electricity. The interior fan ran all the time but the compressor only kicked on a couple of times an hour. The thing would keep a frost on my coke bottles. I finally sold it last year for $200. Not to bad for something I got over 20 years ago for free. Thing is a tank you just can't kill it. They were really meant to last back then.

When we had bought a new fridge a couple years ago the fan died 1 day after warranty and when the guy came out he was all about wanting my coke machien and then explained that the fan in it would kill it being enegry effeciant by todays standards but that they live forever and to never replace it unless I had to. The one that came out of our fridge was all plastic crap and the new one he put in was like a twin to the one in the coke machine, he commented again on technicly the fridge was no longer "green" but the fan would out live it.
If it aint broke dont fix it! as for any extra on the electric bill charge for the drinks :)
