any idea what this was originally? or was it always a Shenobi? Looks older to me.

wonder if there is any artwork left under the wood siding...i'm trying to pick this up tomorrow if i can get it.

how hard is it to find parts for Stargate? I'd want to put it back to original if i get it.

I bought mine that had been converted to a Rush 'N Attack, it wasn't hard at all to find parts to put it back to StarGate, great game i really enjoy mine. I got most of my parts from Quarter Arcade.

went and picked it up this morning...it was a Stargate...but, it was then converted to a Cloak & Dagger...then to Shinobi.

The guy had the paperwork for all of the above...and the original Williams Type B manual for the monitor...pretty cool.

Found a small bag of weed and some seeds in the bottom lol...gave that to the guy and told him to do whatever with it.

Power cord has been cut so i have no way to test it but its solid wood and no water damage...so i figured it was worth $50 which is what i paid for it :)

It's going to go in the back of the pile for a rebuild and i'll start looking for parts.

Looks like the original art is under there, not sure of condition but i can see the original red paint, also looks like the Cloak & Dagger art is under there as well...will have to get the wood grain vinyl off at some point to see exactly what is going on...for now it's just going in to storage until i get my Pac Man, Gorf, and Time Pilot done.

id leave it as shinobi!
there may be a day when a quality conversion game will sell for good coin!

i'm not in to the fighter/ninja games really...i like the old stuff and Stargate will fit right in. If I get rid of the nasty vinyl and there is nice Cloak & Dagger under there it will be tempting to go with that, but I'm pretty excited about going back to Stargate...would like to find a nice Defender as well some day...and a Moon Patrol...and a Vanguard....and....lol.

Damn... Cloak & Dagger. $hit...if there's any parts or if the art is decent under that side, I'd try to bring it back to C&D. IMHO, C&D has far more value than Stargate. :D

Ok so I pulled the wood grain junk off pretty easily and i cut out around the shinobi side art and was able to pull it off in one piece and save it.

Then sure enough the Cloak and Dagger side art is still there and all the graphics stuff is in pretty good shape...should I get a scan of this before I peel it off or is there already a good scan of it, or is it a waste of time and something no one would need?

You can see the Stargate art under it showing through at the top where it was applied directly to it and it was not painted over first.

C&D was a kit that often found its way into Williams cabinets...mostly Defender and sometimes Stargate. If that's the only thing left that's C&D related, then it might kinda cool to try and safely peel or cut off the side art, you might be able to sell it. There has been an art project for C&D using actual Atari films to reprint the full art but that seems to be dead in the water (unless I understand otherwise).

Cool to see C&D remnants again.

C&D pisses me off because the arcade decided to convert my Stargate to it. :(

So it died with my initials as No.1. Boo C&D! I guess nothing lasts forever. :D

Ha! I was gonna buy that when I was down in Tenn next week..Oh well.. I have all of the parts for a stargate. I need to get the boardset working..but I have the wiring/control panel/marquee/boards.

monitor has some burn and there is nothing left of a Stargate except the shell...let me know if you want to sell the stuff you have or if you want it i'll work something out with you...either way. I've got most of the stuff for my Gorf now...just need a couple of more things and can start work on that. I gotta finish up my Pac Man before it gets to cold before i start on anything else. I've got a backlog of work here all of the sudden lol.

Save that C&D side-art if you can, since it just doesn't show-up very often.

if i can get it off of there in one piece i would donate it to someone who can scan it and make a repro...if anyone is interested.

its going to sit for a while before i can dig in to it so i will make another post when i get ready to mess around with it...the colors are great and its not missing anything...its all there.
