Picked this up today. Love baseball but i think this cab tells a different secret.

What should i do. Keep it as is or strip the paint to uncover some goodness?

turn it back to space duel (or whatever vector it was)

If you want to unload the baseball kit (reasonably priced) :) let me know.
A guy I know wants that baseball game.

its not centipede, dig dug, arabian, kangaroo for sure.

That cab shape and single speaker is gravitar/black widow. But the control panel looks weird. Maybe its painted black above the buttons.

Maybe finish the other 12 projects in the background first?

(just kidding, cue the STRIP music......)

I can see the serial number sticker on the back, that will list what it was. Quantum?

If its a quantum are parts hard to get to convert back?

I can tell you right now the cabinet is in excellent shape?

Quantum looks cool. If i cant find a vector monitor can an lcd be used instead?

If you stripped it you would invariably uncover sideart for an Atari color vector (Quantum, Black Widow, Gravitar, Space Duel).

When you go to restore it and post that you WTB a monitor then someone else will remove the monitor from their complete color vector cabinet send it to you, strip the parts and torch the cabinet. Your restoration will end up costing more than the completed game would have cost to just purchase outright, and some other machine will end up dead because of it.

This is basically what happens with every single color vector deconversion. All the spare monitors sitting on warehouse shelves were used up 10 years ago, so when you buy one you kill the game it came out of.

If you are going to use an lcd or a vga then you might as well use a PC as well and skip the boardset entirely.

I'm almost positive it's a Quantum. Yes. Parts are very hard to find. Looks like it had a Amp monitor in it. Flip up the control panel. It there a hole from the track ball?

The black front with blue sides makes me suspect that it probably isn't Quantum. The other 3 in that cabinet had black fronts. Why would the operator bother using 2 different colors of paint?

Not a Space Duel, Space Duel has more than 1 speaker under the CP.

Its a Quantum, Black Widow, or Gravitar as others have said.....Lucky Bastard, i would love to find any of those, nice pick up :)

It is a Quantum control panel. Black Widow and Gravitar are longer at the top. It looks like you can see the white swirl of the Quantuim sideart on the bottom part of the side

Its a quantum. I see the outline underneath the paint and can see the blue near coin door. Middle of cp has trackball cutout.

Im sure i can clean this up to look really nice. No remnants of quantum inside though. :(

See if you can find ANY remnants of serial #, just for fun.

With Quantum, there's enough interest in the game that people have spent time and money on replacement parts (i.e. the PCB). If you have a place to store it and like the game, I'd sit on it for a bit. If not, someone might pay you for the cab once it's cleaned...

Since parts are scarce and the game looks cool. Possible to shove mame in here temporary?

I think vector games look great on an lcd. My ipad atari collection looks good with the vectors
