what little 'tricks' or doodads do you do between game levels?

Like you do in Tempest - in Gyruss, as I go into the planet, I try to rotate as far around the planet as possible (to the left) and usually land somewhere around 2 o'clock...

Heh, I do that on Gyruss too, although I usually do it after every board.

These aren't exactly what you are referring to, but maybe close enough.

Shinobi, I always jump and fire a few shurikens at the "virtual wall" at the end of the levels, leaves behind the white circle when they hit as you end the level.

Donkey Kong second level, I like to jump over the last rivet.

I developed a habit from Twilight Zone pinball of ALWAYS flipping and holding with the left flipper before firing a ball off of the right upper flipper no matter what pinball game it is I'm actually playing at the time. Dang camera shot. :/

I always do that too...and it's actually a good idea. If you're timer is down to 0, you won't run out of time while in the air, so it gives you a half second or so possible extra.
Oh, and speaking of pinball, I always flip the flippers on Addams Family at the end of the ball with the beat (sometimes the game does it by itself, saying "Why, thank you Thing")

It's not too nice, but some games I'll flip off between levels.

For Robotron, I'll drum out a trio of fingertip taps to accompany the inter-level sound effects

These have all been great to read.

I have noticed that Frizz and Phet haven't contributed, so I guess they just sit like choir boys and wait patiently for the next level to load on all of their games.. Bums. ;)

RAMPAGE: after the last building on each stage falls there is a few seconds to kill.. I remember playing in the arcade and even to this day people will "Strike a Pose" with their characters after each stage.. (Fist in Air, Fist at the Ground, and Backhanded Extended Fist) It is goofy but I still do it to this day when I play Rampage.
