I have a couple different options for my Spy Hunter panel when I restore it. I believe both knobs are factory, just different. So which one would you pick?

Spherical or Tapered?

I think I might be leaning towards the tapered just because I think it would be nicer. I believe I've seen more of the spherical on machines though.

Spherical is what's on my game and every other SH game I've seen.

What do these knobs do? Am I missing something? Literally... I haven't seen that on my SH unless I'm trippin' and thats a shifter knob.

If they really are both factory knobs, then I'd go with the tapered one. It is a more typical shape for a shifter knob in actual vehicles.

That's what I was thinking too. I'm not 100% positive its factory but it was just as hard to remove as the other one...VERY hard. I supposed it could have been a replacement at some point but somehow it seems unlikely.

I say go with the second one. It's different, not the same old plain round one.

Looks like I have confirmation that some panels came from the factory with the tapered knob. flynn54321 posted this picture of his after he painted and cleaned it up: (Please disregard the backwards handles ;) )

The wife put in a vote for tapered. I held both knobs up to her and she felt them both. She preferred the feel of the tapered knob. Remarked something about it being more like the real equipment or some sort...

Yes when I put the control panel on the machine - and grabbed onto the handles I was like... ummm something isnt right here???? Woops... How I did that is beyond me - but it was a quick fix and we were in business...

Looked like something I would do...too funny

both are factory. I've got a CP with each one on them. Something most people don't realize either - there are actually 2 grip sets on SH as well, one plastic and one metal.

Yep. The designer says the metal ones are much better. Says the plastic molds weren't made as comfortable as the metal.

I have a couple extra sets of metal if anyone is in need.

Thanks for the confirmation on the knob.
