look a the 1st 2nd and 3rd pic why would you double stack a eprom???

<Looks at pics again more carefully>

Huh... uh... no idea, not really sure what piggybacking an EPROM like that with a bunch of resistors would accomplish.

I'd almost hazard to guess it was an attempt at a multigame or something, but only 1 EPROM is piggybacked like that.

Weird.

i know rite:confused:

i could understand piggy backing a 74 series or a ram if you did not or could not remove it from the board. to see if it fixed your problem.

but to bend the legs up on the chips and re rought the traces from the pins is just weird:confused:

Well, plug it in and lets see what it does :D

EDIT: Ooopss... missed the part where you did plug it in....

Maybe it's just a fuse...

i did plug it in.

it booted to random unrecognizable charters.

nothing that could determine a game.:(

no sad to say it's not a fuse.

although i could add some in and it would probably help:rolleyes:

i think the damage is done for what it was trying to be.

Dumping the Eproms may be an easier way to figure out what it is. Plus there are a few hacks that people may be looking for that are currently undumped.

Q*Bert bootlegs can be hacked to change the monitor sync from neg to positive (Or other way round??)

Some of that hacking looks like the Qbert hack

Nintendos do have sync in reverse, like qbert. Could it be that maybe?

I'm pretty sure that's the hack to turn your DK Jr. into Mortal Kombat 10.

If you do get it do boot and Josuha asks - Shall we play a game?

Always suggest chess and never offer to play Global Thermonuclear War! It never ends well, there are no winners.

Looking in more detail.. those roms on the CPU board are in the wrong locations.
5B is in socket 5E and vice versa. Not sure why the owner decided to dick with the CPU address and control signals (6C-6E)?

Ahhh ok...the roms on the video PCS are supposed to be 2716's. He used 2732 so I suspect this mod is an attempt to make this game a multi of some sort. You can see he takes an address line and runs it over somehhere.. which means he can choose an alternate set of graphics on the fly.

Those two shots of the video board looks like how Special Forces installs on DKJ. I have a picture of mine with SF still installed if you wanna see it.

My Special Forces board only has 1 wire and none of the DKjr roms + a daughter board in the CPU socket. No z80 also.
