I thought it was a Universal cab at first. Can someone confirm?

i have no idea but that looks really cool as it stands.

bootleg operator conversion? still a piece of history.

might be worth keeping that one as is, depending on what it was before, and the availability of parts to restore it.

* edit: can you tell if the marquee, bezel and control panel are all part of the same art package?

Agreed, that's fucking awesome. Definitely a rarer combo than whatever it was originally. Keep the glorious bastard as is :D

Seriously, that looks badass. Has a very Deco feel to it.

A Malaysian Donkey Kong is one thing...try to avoid the Malaysian Donkey Punch.

Agree with this. That is cool I like the conversions (since dedicated exist of DK this not usually what I like saved) and think we should be keeping some in the hobby.

Thanks for the info everyone. To be clear, the machine isn't mine, but I may go to talk to the establishment where this game is at and I'll see if a deal can be made.

Huh. That's interesting. I've never seen a DK bootleg with that marquee - or cabinet style, CPO, or anything else.

That said, the cabinet does seem Japanese. Can't place it, though the coin door looks really familiar - want to say I've seen it on a bootleg Ladybug before, but that could just be me looking for a connection to Universal. I know that I've played on something using it before, though - that coin return is made of pot metal IIRC.
