I think I was told a long time ago that its a nintendo video inverter for monitors that dont support a vertical signal?

I am probably wrong but could someone tell me what it is and how to test it? I have a unisystem cab and a vs cocktail cab at the moment.

Could someone tell me what its worth?

Its only worth what someone is willing to pay and if it isn't attached to a cabinet, there is probably a reason. I've given away half a dozen of those things.

Unisystem cabs don't come with this. It was part of the kit.

Nintendo games use inverted video, and need a sound amp. In a dedicated Nintendo cabinet, the monitor displays inverted video, and has a sound amp built into it. So in Nintendo world, they run the sound signal through the monitor, and send the monitor inverted video from the pcb boards.

This becomes a problem when you try to put a Nintendo VS. kit in a regular cabinet, like say a Pac Man. A Pac Man cabinet has no sound amp, since the sound was amplified on the pac man board, and the monitor doesn't display inverted video.

So when Nintendo sold kits for other cabinets (they speficially made one for Pac Man cabinets!), they included your little board. You plug the board in and it inverts the video and amplifies the sound coming out of the Nintendo pcb.
