Picked up a Sente cab recently and removed the monitor to make the machine lighter to move downstairs.

Upon reinstalling. I noticed the right side appears to have broken glass inside? Can't say I've ever seen this before

I haven't powered on the machine as of yet as the G07 chassis is out for an overhaul, but I have another G07 chassis I could use temporarily.

I presume at some point in its history this tube was dropped on its side but would not necessarily impact functionality?

It's obviously been dropped. The question is whether the vacuum is breached. Someone might have sold you a bad tube, hoping you wouldn't notice till it was home. Or the damage didn't make it all the way through. The glass is pretty thick there.

Some people are gonna say toss it anyway, implosion hazard, blah blah blah. And sure, if you are worried about it. But fuck it, I'd try it first. Just in the name of science.

Just don't put your face right next to it when you do. And maybe put an extra piece of 1/8" plexi behind the front glass long term, if you do keep it. :)

I took a working G07 from my Klax and put it in the Sente cab. Plays blind and no neck glow.

i presume that the G07 chassis from another machine should be plug and play.l and should work if the tube is good.

If so, tube appears to be shot with some pretty bad burn.

i do have a spare 4900 (tube and chassis) I can use for this. I may have to hack the data cable, not sure yet.

I will wait until the chassis that came with this gets back to me to rule out any possible incompatibility with the other G07 chassis.
