What is this "extra" PCB?

I picked up a Track and Field cabinet this weekend...it plays great. No issues with the controls, sound or display but this "daughter" or extra PCB is screwed to the inside of the cabinet near the control panel.

It has a 6 wire molex....can anyone tell me what this does or should do? I'm lost since the game plays fine and it is not connected to anything. The cabinet is an original T&F not a conversion.

Thanks.

Probably for trak-ball support.

I'm inclined to say no....I also got the trackball control panel and there is a PCB and molex that plugs into the molex from the main PCB. The trackball and button versions of the control panel appear to be plug-and-play with the exception of the 12v power needed for the trackball.

I tried to Google various terms like turbo, speed hack and modification to see if the board might relate to a "rapid fire" type of functionality as suggested above but my search turned up no results.

Anyone else?

Need a better pic of the traces on the top and the bottom.

I see the +5V, is there another voltage written near there that is hidden by the wires?

I'm at work but here are two other pictures I took last night...not the best quality. The PCB is mounted on the inside of the cabinet beneath the control panel and just above the coin door.

Does the U1, U2 and U3 on the board stand for player 1, player 2 and player 3....if so, does that lead support to a speed or turbo hack? Or perhaps character mods?
