I'm in the middle of restoring a Mortal Kombat 2 machine and have everything tore down to its bare bones. Anyways, I'd like this to be mostly an original restoration so looking at a few pics that I took of the inside of the cabinet it seems that I'm missing a few things when I compare with what I've seen inside other people's cabinets. This is what sits behind the coin door….looking in from the backside this metal box sits right on top of the particleboard square box that's built into the cabinet. Maybe that box is for the dollar bill validator, which mine didn't come with but would be kind of cool to have. Anyone know what's supposed to be there from when all original? Lastly, I believe I'm also missing the coin bucket that sits behind the vault door. Anyone know where to get a correct sized new one? (Reproduction)

There is a metal chute for the bills to fall into the coin bucket (I don't think bill stackers were a common thing at the time, I could be wrong). The coin bucket setup is just two 'regular' buckets side by side in the lower vault.

Thx for the reply. I'll have to keep an eye out for one of those chutes. If I ever find one of these dollar bill validators is there a set of wires that would go to that to get it to function correctly?
As far as the plastic coin buckets, does anyone know the dimensions or even better, have a link to where I can find new reproduction ones??

X2, definitely a chute for the dollar bill validator.

As for the wiring for the bill validator, the harness should be tucked away to the left of the coin door.

Thx so much for the reply and pic. I'm gonna keep my eye open for someone selling one of these. Eventually I'd like to have the option on my cabinet. Do you happen to know which model validator would be compatible as far as fit and function?
