Thinking about buying a Popeye that is working and wondering what is the going rate? The side art is the generic Nintendo side art and is crappy on one side. Blue cab.

Popeye values are all over the place. The one you describe sounds like a $150 machine to me. On the other hand, I restored a Popeye and I wouldn't sell it for less than $500. But then again, I like the game and mine is mint:

I couldn't sell mine for $300 w/ the HS kit. Hope that helps.

popeye value

i bought mine and with side art and restoration i have 600.00 all into it with purchase price included in that number. so i wold say that would be the high. depending on location youre describing a 350-400 dallar machine(working)

$150 to $350 is what I have seen. I'm waiting for another $150-$200 machine to pop up so I can get in more trouble with my wife. LOl

Hey John,

Why haven't you bashed Phet for his lack of a dust cover, and button on his "restored" Popeye?

Whoa! What's up with that punch button? Did you pull that off of a Street Fighter? That's a $150.00 Popeye right there.

Quick semi-related question...

Does the Popeye HS Save Kit work on the cocktail settings (i.e. screen still flips for 2nd player)? I picked up Low-Gain's Popeye cocktail this last weekend and would like to install the HS kit. If it all works out I may have to get an order into Mike's soon.

That sounds like a VS cab with a Popeye board in it...

I'd say $150-$300.

The real value is that you can DK it.....

Not worth having to buy that Popeye Side Art.

I played it a lot when it came out but grew tired of it fairly quickly. It's not a bad game.

It's usually pretty cheap but if you go the restoration route don't expect to get your money back when you try to sell it. I guess you could say that about a lot of games these days. Of course that's not always the reason to restore a game.

Here are a few pics. I don't think the seller is someone here.
