Fucko should be our national word.
It's got all the coolness of "Bucko", but better.
"Hold it right there, Bucko!"
"Hold it right there, Fucko!"
See, it makes any sentence better, Fucko.

Starting a thread like this is literally visual suicide but I believe there are two definitions of bad economy. The one that hasn't been defined is the klov version. Think about this for a minute, other than meeting some new friends and getting some artwork projects done, what has this forum really done for the arcade economy? It certainly has produced plenty of whiners and tightwads.and damn I'm so proud to be a part of it.
I know my boss used the economy as an excuse to not give me a raise last year and give me about .7% (yes less than 1%) this year despite the fact that we are the busiest we have ever been since I have worked here. If you look at unemployment, underemployment and the situation of many in businesses that are actually way down, I don't know how you could conclude anything other than the economy is a major factor, especially when it comes to non essential purchases like our hobby. Of course, genuinely rare/desireable pieces will always be the exception.I think this web site provides a lot of value for the collecting community.
I think overall there are probably several causes for the low prices many people are willing to pay for games;
1) Economy
2) Examples of cheap pick ups
3) Lack of interest
I would venture to guess that this happens more than we know and some just do not post about what they paid for fear of unnecessary ridicule.BUT, I have still paid what I consider to be top dollar, or fair asking price, for games I want. I picked up a game for $300, and since, I have seen a few go for $150 or even less.

You're killing me Smalls...More than you could possibly imagine....
My taxes continue to climb every year and the cost of everything goes up.
You should probably get a new accountant.
An accountant can't make prices of stuff go down or my taxes go down any further. I need a new Congress and President...![]()
Tight money for some means cheap games for people who have it. This is a great time to build your collection if you have the dough.Totally inaccurate IMO. I don't want to go down the 'woe is me' path of what has happened to me and my career in the past 2 years, but I will definitely agree money is tight with alot of folks right now.
