If I were to repaint Pac-Man upright cabinet sides yellow, how do I do it? Do I have to strip it, sand it, prime it and then paint it? What are some good techniques for doing this? Thanks.

Strip, sand, prime paint sounds right. Rather than using a stripping chemical, I just used 60 grit discs to sand the old paint off the cabinet using an orbital sander. Then wood hardener, wood filler and bondo to repair any trouble spots on the cab, and then another sanding with 150 grit discs. Two coats of primer, sanding any rough spots after each coat. Seems like you can then take the same approach as JeffC, with the Krlyon spray cans for your yellow.

Hope this info helps.

where did you get the hole cutter tool and how much was it? how big did you make the circle for the track ball? I have to do this myself and i was happy to see you found something to cut it with and the results looked good...i've been wondering how i was going to do this lol.

It's called a compass cutter. I got it at Michael's Arts and Crafts store; I think it was just a couple bucks. I just measured the holes on the control panel to size the CPO holes I cut.

Yeah, what he said. I copied Jeff's restoration almost exactly.

thanks...i have to cut the control panel as well...so i have a little more work to do with it. I will have to hit up the local art store and see if I can find one...this is the first time i've done any of this and i'm just learning as i go...trying not to make any costly mistakes along the way so i am just reading a lot and asking a lot of annoying questions lol.

appreciate all the help from everyone here.
