What is the best way to clean off stubborn grime from Plexi

I know there have been other threads on this. I have tried goo gone, and several other glass cleaners and funk removers, as well as the magic eraser, and I have this white film that keeps coming back on a piece of smoked plexi. Does anyone know of something that will take funk off no matter how stubborn it is? I have always had good luck with the Goo Gone gel spray, but this film is tough and not wanting to come off. I am about to just buy a new piece and be over it.

There are special sanding/polishing kits for plexi that can be gotten, you might consider trying that.

Good point, I have been thinking about buying some Novus to attempt getting some scratches out of a bezel, and that may work on this stubborn film as well. I have heard mixed reviews of Novus, so not sure if I will go that route, but I may. I have also seen the polishing pads, but man, they were seriously taxed as I recall.

Novus 2 works really good between the motorcycle, the pinball games, and arcade games and anything in between buy it by the tanker load it works that good.

McGuire's Plastic-X I think it's called. Its a polishing creme for headlight covers. It works great on all plastics. You should be able to get it at any auto parts store (Autozone). If the plexi itself is smoked then you should be fine. If it has a film over it, then be careful to not polish that film off.

I use PPG's DX 330 its for cleaning all the oils off a car before you paint it found out it works really good. You clean the surface with the DX330 and then use a different rag or towel to wipe it off.

I clean both sides with lacquer thinner as it removes spray paint overspray also, then I high speed buff using Mothers plastic polish at 1,000 rpm
