What is missing from Stern's new game manuals?

The Metallica manual is 183 pages.
Game of Thrones is 56 pages.
That is a lot of pages of information they are no longer providing their customers.

  1. No deep-dive on individual game settings
  2. Assembly drawings are smaller, and more on each page.
  3. Schematics, schematics, schematics - but who uses those anyway ;)

Overall, looks like they were streamlining it and trying to reduce the overall size/complexity, but the lack of schematics seems a bit odd.

Now - perhaps they are doing this to guard their hardware/design, or perhaps they simply see these boards as disposable, with it being unlikely anybody is going to do field repairs on them - time will tell.

You are very observant. I don't know if anyone here cares about the lack of service information. I'm certain Stern will be doing all the board replacements and repairs. They have been stating that it will be much easyer to replace a $400 node for most customers than replacing a coil driver. At least as long as they are available.

Most amusement game manufacturers don't include schematics with
their machines.

Now that there is a major "competitor" out there, I can see Stern's
reluctance to share details of their new technology.

I guess I can see why Stern wouldn't want to risk someone stealing there new system and copying it. Especially since Stern has showed everyone how to get away with it
