What is best/safest method for removing Space Invaders mirror?

Getting ready for my space invaders restoration project... I want to gut the cab first ... I did a quick once over and didn't see an obvious method for removing the mirror...

Anyone done this before and / or knows the best way to do it?

Thanks

You'll need gloves and a helper. I think its just held in place with wood and screws. I gutted one of these a long time ago..so only other advice is to be careful and be sure the mirror goes back in the way it came out.... personaly..I'd just leave it in unless you are planning to paint the interior.

The mirror is held by wood strips on the inside of the cabinet. They are just screwed in with 2 hex screws each. Make sure you label the strips Left/Right, and which end is the front as they are drilled to go in one way only. Be carefull when you remove the screws, use a long handled nut driver, or an electric drill/driver with a long extention. You don't want to blemish the mirror with your electric drill chuck.

When you remove or re-install, the marquee wires at the top right side of the cabient will get in the way and will annoy you, it is good if you have a helper to hold them out of the way as you handle the mirror. Use gloves, the edges are not treated in any way, they are sharp!!! Good luck.

DO NOT place the mirror on concrete floor. Lay down a carpet pad or sweatshirts when you set it down to work on stuff. I've broken so many bezels and mirrors even though I tried to lay them down gently on hard surfaces.
