What is acceptable if I cannot find the right capcitor?

===================
C301 - 330uf 25v
C352 - 47uf 25v
C354 - 47uf 25v
C505 - 560 uf 200v (Filter Cap)

I noticed when I changed 1 of the capcitoy C205-470uf 16V, somebody used 470uf 25V instead. So what is acceptable if I cannot find the right capcitor? Above is a list I could not find at Frys.

For example, C301 - 330uf 25v, can I go 330uf 50V? Is the logic V can be higher, and its OK?

If you can't find the same value, you can use one of a higher voltage.

Use same uf, but a higher voltage is ok.

ie- needing a 470uf 16v cap = 470uf 25v is ok.

You can also tie caps together to achieve the capacitance you need.

1000uf + 1000uf = 2000uf

Also, if you tie the negative legs together on two caps, you get a bipolar :)

Awesome.

Now another question for all monitor experts:
Since I noticed that somebody did a recap sometime ago, how long is a recap suppose to last because the picture is dim. I just reflowed the caps, and see what happens. A little brighter, but still dim.

I am trying to mess with the dails to make the picture brighter too. It seem I changed every dail to see what happens. Again, a little better, but still dim.

Anybody in the same boat?

Ive been reading a lot. A rejuv is what I need. But that will be after I resolder everything that looks flaky.
