What is a good price for a Red Tent Nintendo Cab?

Depending on what games are in it, $200-$400, IMO. Condition and games will adjust it accordingly. I bought mine a few years ago with SMB and Excitebike for around $250. YMMV.

OH ok, I found one that was local and is $500 with to good monitors with excite bike and tetris . . . so too much?

I paid $250 for mine as well, came with Baseball and Tennis, both games requiring both sides of the machine. The games I owned for mine at one time or another:

Baseball
Tennis
Vs. Pinball
Iceclimber
SMB
Skate Kid Bros (SMB Hack)
Dr. Mario
Castlevania
Goonies
Gradius
Hogans Alley
Gumshoe
Excitebike
Vs. Golf
Tetris (Hogan's Alley PPU)

The chipsets and daughtercards are fun (and expensive) to collect, but like everything else, once you collect them all, you start losing interest in any of them. I sold my tent and most of my Vs. chips sets and don't miss them. I did keep a few, but plan to use them in an upright at some point, which is how I first got into the Vs. series. Not to be a downer, but Red Tents are hard to sell when you actually decide they take up more space than you thought they would.

Yeah this is more for my two very young kids so I don't have to worry about them failing off of stools and chairs when they are playing games, and the Nintendo games, well most of them, are very kid safe.

I think I paid around $300ish for mine with Super Mario Bros and Excite Bike and working. That was a few years ago.

Yeah they're great for kids. My kids loved the tent at first, but stopped playing it for some reason. Their favorite game was Castlevania. If you have the space for the machine, they are pretty unique to play and fun to look at. I always had 4 chairs around mine, which added to the space needed for the set up.

I'll preface this by saying I'd be willing to pay up to $400 for one myself, but...

...there was a time not long ago when you couldn't give them away. When I used to read through RGVAC over 10 years ago, they were a punchline.

Glad they're finally being given their due.

Nintendo ANYTHING is on the rise right now.

I've seen a few red tents sold lately for $500 or more, depending on games included.

I bought one for $450 with SMB and Tetris and a non-working board with Top Gun and Golf. One of the monitors needs a cap kit. I bought it because they don't pop up too often and like another member said, Nintendo items seem to be on the rise. If everything is in good condition and nothing really needs to be done to it, $500 may not be too bad for a red tent especially if it will be a keeper in your collection.

Oh, and if vs games get old you could use the red tent cabinet for PC10 games. I might even try installing a Mario Bros harness in my cab to have some real 2-player simultaneous action. Maybe install a Popeye pcb too and make it a dual Mario Bros/Popeye cocktail.

Yeah $500 or less depending on condition but at $450 to $500 better be mint with a good game set. I got mine for $300 with Pinball but it has a few small dents and some ware marks.
