I have a stack of GAL220v10D-15LP chips.. that I cant burn with my minipro 866cl

I can burn the -10LP with no problem .. but once I throw in the 15LP they will not burn properly and dont verify.

Looking to get something that can be bought from amazon and delivered in the next 2-3 days.

Any help will be appreicated.
Thank you

I have one of those minipro's sitting next to me and won't use it.
It can select the proper part - it says it erased the part and goes through the motions saying it is programming the part and then it verifies the part as programmed ... and the part remains blank the whole time.

I use an old Advin Pilot U128plus programmer for these... no idea what the "plus" means but it can do pretty much anything.

hmm well I appreciate the recommendation - but $1500.00 is a little steep for what little I am using it.. the minipro is great for eeproms and even the RIGHT gals.. but .. hmm ok thanks

So I have the tl166a which looks like the mini pro maybe the same thing, I don't think I ever had a problem with -15s I have to check but I think that's what I use for all my kits.

Wondering if anyone else had this issue.

Brian

For me, the only way to burn GAL16 and GAL20 on the minirpo programmer is to uncheck the box marked "encrypt ch".

Actually -- the Advins pop up quite often on ebay. I got my U128+ for $80. Gotta make sure it is the U84plus or U128plus for software support.
No bargains today, though.

I have used the Genius G540 for GAL16V8's. Works well, although it typically fails verification even though the chips program fine. It's cheap, and you get what you pay for, but it has worked for me specifically for GAL16V8's. Not sure if it supports the chip you're looking to use, but it's worth checking the G540.
