What is a driver board?

For all I know it could not be missing anything and he's just a dumbass, I'll have to see whenever I get pics(Probably tomorrow). If need be I may be able to get some pin parts locally as well for cheap.

Yeah, nerd lingo keywords are a sign the person knows alot more than they are leading on.

I had a red flag go off on a 'mostly working' Pacman pin when the guy said "The right slingshot isn't working". When he goes out of his way to say he knows nothing about the pin, hasn't ever opened it up,etc - and then drops a term like that, you know there are bigger issues.

Thus, I dropped my asking price and he balked. Funny, considering he was 'moving and desperate'. ;)

And yes, expect to sink money into any pin with issues. They are much more labor, parts, and fundage intensive than vids.

You could easily be in several hundred in parts before you realize what happened.

I agree. If he's using the term "driver board", he's definately not a dumbass.....though, he might be pretending to be one.

He had stated "there is a driver board missing other than that I'm not sure what may be wrong with it I'll get some pics"

Driver board is $20 tops for a system 1. It is about the most basic driver board you could get. Buy one untested, and fix it. It takes like 2 minutes to completely test one out with a DMM. You might have to replace 1-2 coil drivers, and 2-3 light drivers.

Odds are if you buy it untested, it will be 100% working anyways. The only tip is to make sure you get the later revision that already has the blocking diodes on board. Easy to recognize, because you'll see the diodes near the top right corner.
There is absolutely no point whatsoever to buying a repro driver board for that model of game.

I'd be more worried about the MPU board....battery ****ting all over itself.....bad spider chips...etc.

and to add....What's the chances of a good driver being robber out of a working pin?

But a convenient way to "hide" other issues.
