What is a ballpark figure for getting a cabinet CNC'd?

I have a Berzerk Cabinet that is in rough shape but the boards and everything else is rock solid so I just want to transfer it over to a new home. I am just wondering if anyone has done this before?

CNC Costs

Costs are dependent upon where you are located and the types of projects your CNCer does.

Boulder Arcade Factory list the cabinet at $550. Their website can be found here....

Another option is to find a local CNC shop to cut it for you. I have not dealt with anyone personally, but from what other people have told me, it is somewhere between $50 and $100 a sheet for cut materials (does not include assembly) nor does it include a "computer reivew" of the plans which there is sometimes a charge as well.

I have started cutting a few cabinets as well (wrong coast for you, so I am not a help), and I charge for my costs of materials + $50 a sheet (including assembly). I am on the extremely cheap side of things, but I am primarily trying to re-coup some of my CNC machine costs and I am not trying to make a living from it. The Bezerk would be 3 sheets of material.

The plans for the Bezerk cabinet can be found here...

Please note that the plans are not mine and I have not been able to confirm the measurements, so they are a bit of a wildcard / use at your own risk. Since you have a Bezerk, you could probably do some spot checks on the plans for verification and I would be happy to assist if you have any questions as well.

Thanks

Brian

Where would be the best place to do spot checks?

if they are not confirmed than i would say you would have to check ALL dimensions for every piece off your original cabinet to make sure the plans are accurate.

you could buy a tracing router bit and tear your cabinet apart carefully piece by piece and copy them exactly. if you have damaged areas you will have to quickly fix them before tracing.

That's what I did on my Ms. Pac-Man cocktail. It was fun and not incredibly difficult.

the cabinet design that i ended up copying costs 62 dollars in wood for a complete cabinet out of plywood from the home depot
the whole cabinet costs about 292.00 including all the latches, screen, game board, wiring, paint, control panel, etc., etc.

not sure how much i would save if i had it lazered cut, probably more than i think. they charge a setup fee too maybe
i love building them by hand. nice thing about the cabinet design is that i can widen it easily to accommodate a 32 inch horizontally mounted screen for those game packs

pictures of my "new" cabinets. the red one has the 32 horizontally mounted screen in it

I actually bought these plans from a CNCer.... so I would expect them to be very accurate. With that said, I am extremely paranoid about accuracy of plans that I post to the website. If I haven't verified them myself or had another KLOVer verify the measurements, I score them low until they can be checked. Just because the plans are scored low doesn't mean they aren't good. Someone just cut a Williams mini from unverified plans and they said it came together spot on.

It is also interesting to note that I have come across a few cabinets that have totally different designs and internal structure. For example, Tempest has two different designs. Bakerhillpins spent a lot of time and effort getting both sets of plans verified (thanks).
