What in your collection has taken the most money??

I will not even mention what I piad but I have every one but the pin owners and the white Computer Space beat. I bought a Tug Boat back in 2002 and had it shipped to CA. Bought it from a now KLOVer (Don't think he was at the time). Paid a big price as I though they were rare and didn't know they would be coming out of the wood work. Also someone else offered a bit as well. Before I got to unwrap it a guy who I had been emailing trying to buy his Pirate Treasure and each time I would up the offer finally emailed saying he was trying to buy his wife another car and if I wanted it for my last offer of X (Same as I paid for the Tug Boat)+shipping I could have it other wise it would go to the news groups or ebay. I had to sell my Tug Boat (Which I never unwrapped) and another game (Desert Race) for cash and a trade (Jamma Moppet). Then bought the Pirate Treasue which I only wanted for the PCB. PCB had minor issues, Monitor didn't work (I knew that before hand). I still have the PCB and the cabinet is the Crystal Castles Moppet. I did later buy his other Moppet at a much cheaper price but it got stolen by a trucking company that was suppose to deliver it to me. Just happened to be the only game they picked up for me :-(.

Dude...

'nuff said.

Probably Bubbles.
$300 for cabinet + NOS CPO + mint Bezel
$100 for shipping cabinet
$35 for Marquee (Ebay so $40 for marquee + $15 for shipping)
$25 for Wico stick + 4" blue ball shaft (missed an optical stick on EPay at $105 :()
$35 for a coin door in decent shape
$65 for boards (that needed rebuilding)
$12 for marquee light parts (bulb + starter + ballast)
??? for parts to build wiring harness
??? for translucent blue buttons

There have to be other costs I have just blocked out....

I have north of $1300.00 in my Last Action Hero pin, that includes the 1250.00 I paid for it. I highly enjoy the "action" though, so it is worth it in my book.

As far as vids, my Multi Willliams takes the cake at about $750.00 with my Alk. Edition Rush The Rock coming in a close second.

Cash outlay: $1,300

Feeling you get from restoring a classic: Priceless!

Oh, that's a 2? I always thought it was "Arkanow ?" What game is this? Is it Arkanow? I'm not sure! PUT IN A QUARTER TO FIND OUT.

Oh really? God I had no idea, I must be really stupid.

As far as I know, Arkanoid was never a dedicated game. It is, without a doubt, the most-converted game, ever. Every game ends up being an Arkanoid! :D

Good price for a fun little game. Exterior is easy, fun stuff if you ask me.
Thanks for the encouragement. I actually just capped the audio amp about 45 minutes ago. Once I'm finished with what I have to do here (work - if I can pull myself away from this board that is), I'm gonna head home and see what improvement I get.

All I had before was a loud hum, and no game sounds. I'm optimistic, but am prepared for more work.

And the longer I'm working on it, the less I'm kicking myself for paying "so much" for it.

In all seriousness, that's an excellent restoration, and everyone who was taking me seriously, I still like you. :)

I would have gone with a switching power supply for $15-20 instead of a $70 one. You probably could have bought new guns from happ for not much more than just the pcb. A force feedback dual gun 45cal kit with power supply, 2 guns, I/O board, and cables runs around $250, so just one gun would be much less.

And if I had it to do all over again that would have been the route I went...but in doing it peace by peace...that is why this game is the bane of my existance.

Each time it got down to the ...this has to be it part...it wasn't.

Well, maybe if you had an avatar, we might think of you as more of the "in the know" crowd... :D

A nice avatar like IJTFCinder's might work...? :D

Just out of curiousity, which one of your games out of the entire collection have you put the most cash into. Your answer can only be for THEE most costly game to date. Mine would have to be my wifes Ms.pac. I have spent over $200 on it since I got it not including what I originally spent to buy it and it's still not finished, but it works 100%. I estimate another $100 will go into it for completion. If it were my game I would have sold it long ago,I have only kept putting money into it to keep her happy (and to allow me to get more games....shhhhhhh) lol

One of these... :)

Pinball machines. I have easily paid twice to three times as much for any pinball machine than what I paid for my costliest video game.
