What in the heck is a JANMA (not JAMMA) J-A-N-M-A (pictures attached-need help)

GOing through my boards and found a board that asy JANMA by the connector. Very similar to a JAMMA but JAMMA connector won't plug onto it because the JANMA is just a tweek longer.

Thanks

Somebody let me know what this game is???

Thanks

Try a different JAMMA card edge connector on it. I can't imagine what else would fit it. It looks like a standard 28/56 pin .156" pitch card edge to me. Variances in housing tolerances from manufacturer to manufacturer could cause a particular brand not to fit in terms of slot width.

Double Dragon is my guess. It's missing the big blue cap near the dip switches (under D8 - you can see the holes where it would be), and the roms don't have the technos sticker, but I'm 98% sure that's what it is.

It also has Double D written on the board right by the JAN MA screening...

I was about to ask where until I looked more closely at the second image. I feel pretty dumb right now :). At first glance, that just looked like scratches, not actual words upside down!

Yep Typical Boot...

No Key on the connector

Jamma is misspelled

I once had a MVS cart named metal Slvg

so to the o.p. i would guess that youll need to cut a slot in the board with a dremel tool or take out the "key" from your jamma connector.

janma... thats funny!

ITs a bitch when you get old adn your eyesight goes to hell! I see the Double D on it now (with my glsses!) and I will try in another one of my games. Update to follow!

I tried it without the key in my JAMMA connector and it was my connect was a bit too short....

DOE-DEE-DOE.....

This board works perfect! Man do I fell stupid! Now it is for sale. Anybody interested in a perfect working bootleg Couble Dragon??

That's what it's actually called on the title screen? "Couble Dragon"? I've played a few bootlegs of DD, but they were all exact clones (including saying "Double Dragon" on the title screen).

<snip picks of board on CARPET>

Dude, please, PLEASE, don't put bare boards on carpet. Obviously we're none of us (well a few of us) rich enough to have full ESD-safe workstations, but putting a board on carpet is just ASKING for ESD damage. Please don't do that. Large ESD bags come up for sale on Ebay in small lots fairly regularly, or use tin-foil when the board isn't powered. But not the carpet. Please?

(I'm sorry, I've had enough ESD training that I actually cringe when I see that now).

I've also had ESD training, but after years of pulling out boards covered in rat shit, mud dauber nests, cobwebs, dirt, pill bugs, etc. - and plugging them in to find them working perfectly - I stopped worrying about it.

Of course, that doesn't mean I use them to discharge monitors, either....

I've also had ESD training when I worked in a PCB factory. With regard to ESD that is too small to see, feel, or hear; modern PCBs with tiny, delicate surface-mount components are at a much higher risk of damage than '80s arcade boards.
