I am talking with someone about selling my cabinets on the west coast. Either my actual cabinets, or cabinets produced from my vectored cabinet files and prints. Sound interesting?

Where would they be manufactured and what would the cost savings be? I might be interested in a few cabs at some point in the future but cost is always a big factor.

if they are my cabs and i take them out there, the price would be higher, just to cover getting them there. If they are manufactured there, i assume the price will be the same as what i charge here in Ohio.

Have you looked into uship.com to see if someone local to you heads west often? Maybe you could network with someone to bring cabinets west ever 3-4 weeks for a flat fee. I think if someone could get a new cabinet to them for around $100.00 it might help move product.

I would be interested in this allso but like Oz Said price sadly is allways the greatest factor.

BTW I'm still needing that bottom done for my DKJR!

i think you would do very well on the west coast, esp in the orange county/la area.

i would def be interested in buying a few cabs from you if they were sold locally.

My first instinct is to say that you should find someone to make cabs to your spec, but the problem then becomes accounting for what they do, so that you can get your cut appropriately, and making sure that they build them to spec, AND that they do so in a timely manner. The plus side is, once you have them running well, the money just comes in to you with no further work (sort of like a franchise restaurant).

The other option is, of course, to set up shipping. The disadvantage here is that it's not cheap no matter what you do. The advantage is that you get to keep all the money, AND if you set up something useful with a freight shipping company, you might be able to set it up nationwide, not just for the west coast.

I'd START by talking to freight companies about contracts for shipping cabs door-to-door. If you contract to do all your shipping through one company, perhaps you can get a more reasonable rate?

Good luck.

No Love for the East Coast ?

I was thinking the same thing. You need to set something up going down the coast all the way to Florida. I would get some of your cabs but can't justify the shipping. Besides, those guys in California have enough games. :D

I'm sure he's talking about Washington State and other states on the west coast.

Now if someone could make Classic control Panels for the harder too find games now thats where the money is.

In his post about shipping containers he was only talking about getting the games to California so they would still be a ways from you too.
