What I Dislike Most About Champion Sprint (and others)
CONTINUES. I hate them. The biggest disservice arcade manufacturers did to players was to allow continues with your score being unaffected. I don't mind CONTINUES per-se... it's the CONTINUES with the score remaining to build on is what I have an issue with. The very rare game will allow continues and allow the score to continue as well, but will post the number of coins next to the score... and that's OK too... it's the games where you can't tell which high scores are associated with multiple coins and which are not that I have a problem with.
Championship Sprint, evidently, is one of them. APB was one of them. It sucks. It pisses me off. What sucks even more is that I can't seem to determine if there is a way to turn off continues or, at least, limit them to 3 coins or something.
Basically, what allowing continues like that does is it gives the high score to the schmuck who can pump the most coin in to the machine rather than the one with the most skill. What that does to us as collectors is that means the one who can push the freakin' start button most wins.
Boo...
I wish there was a way to adjust that....anyone know of anything?
