This is a crazy thought but what whould happen to your collection of games that you worked so hard to find and spent lot's of you hard earned cash on if something happend to you like a freak accident or car crash and you passed on who whould take your collection over? I know my wife whould love to have the space back in the garage to park her car but do people go to the extent to have will's on their arcade machine's? I already told my wife I whould like to give my collection to my kids and hopefully someday who knows 30 years from now when they get older whould these games be worth anything? i whould think so? Any thoughts?

I have a co worker at work who has 3 rare pins from the 50's and 60's. Hes on
the older side and we actually talked about this today:) Not sure how we got on
the topic.. kinda morbid. He has no kids.

Anyway. Assuming my wife is around.. she can do anything she wants with them.
I'm still in my 39's:) so I'm somewhat invincible still.

My wife would eventually enlist some of my friend's to help dispose of everything, but being the sentimental sort she is, she'd most likely keep one (like my Joust cocktail) just because it was something I loved and she'd want it to remember me by...

BTW - a better question would be:

If your wife (or significant other) were to die suddenly, how long would it be before you eventually decided you didn't need a spare bedroom or dining room and filled it with more games?

Just do like the pharaohs did and bury it all with you so you can play all your games in the afterlife! Or if you can stick around long enough maybe they'll figure out the key to unlocking immortality and you can play games until the sun explodes! :p:D

Having had almost this situation, I can say that thought never crossed my mind. Thankfully she is okay now (had a heart attack at age 36), but I can honestly say that I would give up everything I had to have her with me.

You're dead!

Sell them, burn them, boat anchors, keep them...

Who cares...

Prop my mummified body up in the Star Trek cockpit and seal off the garage.

Actually...
I bought several games from a lady upstate one time. They were the remains of her deceased husband's collection. She had already sold off some of his more prized ones and was only keeping a couple for their children to play.

They were friends with Bob Roberts and the wife even helped with cap kits from time to time. I even located a response to one of her husband's rgvac posts that I had made a long time ago.

I guess the story is that when you're gone, it doesn't matter. Even if there is some interest from family members, it probably won't be enough to maintain a shrine or anything.

Play 'em now. Don't worry about them later.

I would arrange to have all of mine destroyed, the rationale being that, if I can't have them, no one can.

(This is where you wait to see me write "I'm kidding"...and then I don't...and then you're like "Hmmm"...)

I'm sure my wife would happily get rid of my vids, and probably keep the pin until it broke down, and then she'd get rid of that too.

Reading this thread brought up the time when Gravitar left this earth with his wife deciding what to do with his collection. Gravswife? I wonder how she's doing now or what is left of Gravitar's collection?
