What happened to jammaboards.com? R.I.P. Tim - Respect!

A while back I purchased a 60-in-1 with an adapter that plugs into my Ms. Pac-Man edge connector. It was a non-destructive upgrade kit while I wait to for a new Ms. Pac board.

So I order from jammaboards.com and it took 3 weeks to ship then I get the 60-in-1 and it lasts 2 weeks before it dies.

I tried contacting them multiple times via the 3 emails I had and through their support ticket system and got zero response.

This weekend I was going to update the support ticket and reference the product kit I got and I come to the online store and it says

:: Sorry, the store is temporarily closed for maintenance. ::

It has been that way for quite a few days and they have ignored my help tickets and emails for weeks.

Are these guys going out of business?

I'm bummed cause I got ripped off.

I guess that's my karma for buying a 60-in-1 in the first place.

I believe I'd read here that the owner was very ill. I don't think he's ripping you off.

I just received an email from Jammaboards.com that at the age of 42 Tim has passed away.

Blessings to his family for their loss.

This is just awful. Condolences to the family.

Looks like it may have been cancer. This is based on a quick search of his name. So it may not be accurate.

Condolences to his family. Way to young to pass away.

That's very unfortunate...

My Condolences to the family as well. Hmm, I ordered last Monday, 2 jamma harnesses and 2 power supplies as they were 40% off, no word on what's going on with my order...I haven't received an e-mailing stating this unfortunate news, but I hope after they finish their family duties, that people, including myself, either get our order or money back. I know it seems bad timing to ask for our money or products, but we too can't just be taken for...
Now what?

I would contact paypal or your credit card company and file a claim. You will obviously be reimbursed. I doubt sending parts you ordered out is going to happen. My condolences to his family as well.

Rip tim. Good thoughts and prayers for those he left behind..

It might take a while to get tim's affairs in order. It been 6 months and there are still issues with rich's estate.

As other suggested you might want to contact paypal or your credit card company..

Fyi

In the Email I got from JammaBoards.com it said the following:

I ask for your patience during this horrific time for our family. This business was Tim's creation, his life and his love.

Going forward, our goal is to quickly get the right expertise in-house here to reopen our e-storefront and again be able to service you with our entire line of inventory and services.

I hope to be in touch soon with the re-opening of Jammaboards.com web store.

Thank you in advance for your patience, positive thoughts and understanding.

That's really sad to hear... R.I.P. Tim.

Dudes, thanks for the advice, I just called American Express and they were sad and understanding about the situation. They opened an "investigation" for the amount $98.94 American and they will reverse it but it might take longer because I'm Canadian and this is an "international order." I hate to do that and I would have loved to support and buy from them to help, but business is business.

Side note, it felt awesome when they said "It's ok sir, you're a Amex Platinum member with impeccable credit, we will take care of you, sit back and complete your video game hobby machine while we give you your money back" teehee
Geez... is $100 that big of a deal to you that you had to jump on the phone to get it back the day the guy passes away? I'm sure his family has enough to deal with than to answer a call from Amex looking for $100. Yeah, business is business... but courtesy goes a long way too.

Couldn't agree more.

I agree the timing is bad, I honestly do, but they shouldn't be taking orders 5 days before the man is ill if they new that his happening.

Come on man I'm sure they were not planning his death.

Also if you read what I posted it says they will be re-opening the store. This is a tough time for the family so they need a bit of time.

The only reason I got an email is because I sent in an email asking what was up with my order then felt a lot of compassion when they replied.

I'm sure there are worse things in life then waiting for your arcade parts to come in.

Send the family good energy as they need it.
