I have one. I think it's fun. It's like a Top Gun rip-off, and oozes 80's cheesiness. Some people might not like the off-center flippers, but I like them. There's also a fun vertical loop up in the top left corner of the playfield, plenty of targets, and 2-ball multiball.

As for sound, there's no speech, but it has lots of jet sounds, sirens, and such. It also has a huge air raid siren inside that is LOUD. I installed a switch on mine so I can disable it. Mine also has the original topper with it. The topper looks like flashing runway lights.

I traded a Pac-Man cabinet with a 48-in-1 board for one in really nice condition.

Yeah, the flipper setup seems pretty weird. I don't ever recall seeing a pin like that before. Was this the only pin like that?

From the pics I've seen, that siren does indeed look gigantic. Is it just entirely TOO LOUD to be left engaged?

It is very loud. It sounds when you hit the 500k shot, or when you score high enough to get a free game. Since this machine doesn't have free play, I have my free game score set ridiculously low so that there's always credits on it. So, particularly with a new baby in the house, I leave the siren shut off most of the time. If people are over who haven't seen the machine before, I'll turn it on.
