I thought I'd heard somewhere that there are games other than gauntlet legends/dark legacy that work on that board set. Any idea which ones and if it's as simple as a drive and rom swap (like the dark legacy upgrade)? I was thinking of switching things up a bit and buying whatever other games might be available to try out.

Thanks for that link! Didn't realize so many games used those boards. Now I have to decide which one(s) would be an appropriate addition to the gauntlet cab (and fun!)

Any suggestions on which to look in to?

I kinda think almost all the other games are unsuitable, racing games and shooters...unless you plan on building a control panel you can swap out.

NBA/Blitz is pretty much it otherwise. Tenth Degree SUCKS...like don't waste your money SUCKS.

Some of the sports games use an additional interface board for the controlls. I just picked up a Cart Fury, and it has an extra board for the steering wheel controls and amps for the extra speakers.

Chad recently posted some NOS video cards for sale and mentioned that some games have an additional security chip on the video card.

Just some things to research before you make a move.

I kinda wondered if most of those games were worth playing... :-/

Not really in to sports games, but my kids might be, plus it appears blitz uses the same CP layout as gauntlet, so that's probably the one to go for.

Now to look on ebay! Thanks for the input!

Looks like Rush2049 is missing from both of the pages dedicated to this hardware. Unless I'm missing something Rush2049 used the same boardset.

EDIT: Rush2049 runs on the Atari Denver boardset. huh. Never knew there was a difference.

if you are funning plain legends on that board, then you most likely wont be able to change it to any other game. There are certain legends boardsets that have different firmware versions that wont run Dark Legacy, War or Blitz/Showtime. If your lucky then you can change it to War or Dark Legacy(right firmware). You need the voodoo video card to play blitz/showtime. (plus the chips and harddrive of course)

Let me take back my previous post sorta: I have had that boardset work 80% of the time with Dark Legacy, but I have ran into older boards that wouldnt work....

I'm running a legends board set with dark legacy playing without a problem. Hoping I can get a similar drive/chip upgrade for blitz or the like as you see all those dark legacy upgrades on eBay. ...Ya think?

I have the security PIC and the boot eproms for sale. I dont have any video cards left but you can usually find them on ebay.
