What games are you planning on getting?

Not many new games interest me, sadly, except for the new Mario Kart and MvC3. Anything else I can really take it or leave it.

I sill play my older games, but I think that can be said of everyone here.

So apparently the Last Guardian was canceled so I guess that one won't be coming out :(

So how did everyone fair? Get everything you were planning to? I think I managed to get everything on my list that ended up coming out, with a few still out there waiting.

I'm seriously considering getting a 3DS finally along with the Zelda OOT re-hash and Kid Icarus. These long trips out of the country I keep getting forced to take can get pretty boring.

Need to look into what other games might be worthwhile for the system, but I don't think there is much that really strikes my interest. :/

EDIT: Hmm looks like there are a few other potential buys out now. Kingdom Hearts. New Super Mario Bros. 2. Might need to pull up Amazon in a sec. :D

EDIT2: Fuck it. Flame red system, OOT, SML3D, KI:U, and SF643D ordered. Will have to order NSMB2 when it comes out as well. Damn you Nintendo. :p

Couldn't you just count all your fat stacks of cash? That sounds pretty damn fun to me.

:D

The 3ds is pretty fun, the new 3dsxl comes out real soon and I would wait for that. My only complaint is the 3ds screen is way to small for some games. I got that Galaga game for it and I can't see the bullets unless I hold it up to my face. Zelda was very nicely remade, Icarus is just a shooter... Mario land 3d is really fun if you like the franchise, and mariokart is great. If fighters are your thing street fighter 4 is very impressive as is dead or alive.

LOL what you think I keep that shit in a pillow case and carry it around with me? :D Or maybe when I die someone will post a thread about finding tens of thousands of dollars in an arcade game coin box they bought at an estate sale. x_X

WHAT? No f'n way! I waited all this time and they're just about to make the XL version? Screwed again.

Guess I will just get rid of it later and get the XL version then. Better make sure to keep it in good condition. Maybe I'll give it to my niece, I think she might be about the age where she'd enjoy it. :(

Been reading some reviews and not so sure I should have picked up Kid Icarus. I guess I love the original so much I just can't accept that the new title is a polished turd.

Heavily debating whether I need Mario Kart 7 or not. It's so fun... and yet the gameplay is so random. Plus I suck at Kart which doesn't help.

I see you bought it :/ oh well it's not too small for every game, but the xl does have a 90 percent larger screen :) I always give my wife and kids the older one to use but im the only gamer in the house so they don't get played much anyways. I like Mario kart 7 a lot I think you will too if you liked the others. I'm looking forward to the paper Mario and luigis mansion coming out. I never played luigis mansion back in the day but I did like paper Mario for a very relaxing rpg without lots of grinding.

I'm hoping that most of the games that you could file under the 'too small complaint' are quick 'n dirty ports made by 3rd parties to cash in on the launch rush. I tend to not buy much other than the 1st party hits anyways. But if nothing else I will just sell the system for a loss here later and get the XL. As long as Gamestop doesn't get it I'm fine with losing a few bucks.

I just wonder really if I'll come away from MK7 with the same feeling of the last few MK titles: 'it's fun, but it feels just the same as MK64 with better graphics and effects.'

Paper Mario was fun the first time out, but it's pretty dialog heavy for my tastes. Luigi's Mansion was alright, but came away from it with the same feeling I did after playing Mario Sunshine. I guess when you're growing up and things go from Mario Bros. 3 (which was freaking epic) to Super Mario World (which was just mind-blowing) it makes you sort of expect more from each iteration.

I did very much enjoy every New SMB title though (despite the fact that I never had 4 good players to play with). I consider the next one must buy material and might pre-order it if I find someone running a sale.

What the... 3DS XL is coming out on the 19th?

I waited this long for a 3DS I can wait one more week. Put in a request to cancel the order, I'll just pre-order the XL this week when it pops up on Amazon.

Looks like NSMB2 isn't getting very great reviews for a SMB game. The Wii title set the bar pretty high, this new title sounds like it might be a step backwards.

On another note, has anyone played Persona 4 Arena or BlazBlue Continuum Shift EXTEND? Was thinking I might pick one or the other up for PS3 or 360.

Got a 3dsxl tonight as a gift. It's big and beautiful. I just got all my stuff transferred over which was pretty easy using the built in software. And I did just play some persona 4 today as well. A friend brought it over to play in my hd cab and it looked great. I'm not familiar with the series at all but my daughter was able to mash the buttons well enough to pull off some cool looking moves. I'm only decent at street fighter games so couldn't really recommend you buy it off what little I played, but probably worth a rental for sure if you got someone to play against.

Wow sorry tapatalk is glitching... Multi post :-/

Gosh I really dislike saying this, but nothing lately has interested me.
A few years back I had must-have titles such as Soul Calibur 4 and Burnout Paradise -- now, nothing.

I managed to cancel my regular 3DS purchase in time and picked up a red/black XL (wish I had gotten the blue/black now, it looks pretty pimp). Also picked up a R4 cart for 3DS so I can still play GBA/DS/DSi ROMs and emulators. Now I just gotta get home to claim my prize. :/

Still thinking about getting P4 Arena and the latest BlazBlue title for 360, but honestly I haven't fired the system up in so long I'm not sure it even works anymore (same with my PS3 and Wii). Might as well skip it, I'll probably be too busy playing JAMMA arcade games once my candy cab arrives from metahugh (along with fixing up some pins) and I virtually never play console systems when I'm at home.

Currently playing: Kung Fu and Contra on DS via NES emulator. And Puzzle Quest Challenge of the Warlords (which I thought I would hate, but it's actually pretty addicting). Unfortunately I dropped my DS though so the top screen starts going into a sort of spastic convulsion a few minutes into play. Really need to get back and get its successor (and maybe see if I can get this one working long enough to drop it in GameStop's unsuspecting lap :D).

Just picked up a 3DS XL with New SMB 2. Best Buy is having B2G1 Free so I also picked up FF Theatrhythm, Kingdom Hearts: DDD & Metal Gear Solid: SE3D. I'll be occupied for a while on/off. :D

Nothing really "new" about it. It's fun but short (already half way through with only about 2.5 hours of play) The gold power ups and different game modes are cool but I think SM3DL is a much better game. It's not a bad game, but nothing about it really wows me. I got it practically for free so I'm not going to complain, but I wouldn't pay $40 for it.

I played it in the store and was excited that raccoon Mario was back, but it played nothing like sm3 (which is fine) but then the focus was on coins which I never care about. I'll jump to grab some running through a pipe but that's about it. I'm probably alone on this but I would like to see a sequel to super Mario bros 2 (the USA version). I loved that game when it first came out and I'll play it once in awhile when I drag out the old stuff.

SMB2 doesn't really count as a true Mario game IMO. Good memories playing it but I was shocked when I found out later that it was based on a Japanese game Doki Doki Panic and all they did was switch out characters. Haha. SMB3 still my all-time favorite Super Mario game.

Sure it does. Without it, we wouldn't have Shy Guy our Birdo. And can you imagine a world with no Birdo?
