It's been a slow year for games so far, at least for me. A handful of new PC games along with the 3DS and a 360 game or two...that's about it. I got to looking at what's coming out this fall and it looks like I may have to finally use of some of my vacation time...

Star Fox 64 3D
Ico and Shadow of the Colossus: The Collection
Batman: Arkham City
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Assassin's Creed: Revelations
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Sonic Generations

And if they make it this year...

Mario Kart 7
Super Mario 3D Land
Torchlight II
The Last Guardian

I've had a very busy year with games - spending too much money on stuff - bargain hunting, wasting time.

What I'm debating on right now:
Xbox 360 - GoW3 console (I sold my old 360 and will buy one anyways to play this game, trying to decide if $400 is really justified this late in the game for this current gen) I know I could buy a used console and be playing this game for around or less than $200. Another thing that kind of stops me from buying these limited edition consoles is that they never give you an inclination on how many are going to be produced. I figure they probably forecast how many will sell and combine that with preorders to come up with production numbers. I don't know, I'll probably end up buying it, but it will be a toss-up until the week it's released then I'll get frantic and buy it.

I haven't paid too much attention to new games recently. I can echo most of the titles on your list, mattroid. Zelda and the Ico and Shadow of the Colossal for sure. I did not get a chance to play through either on the PS2 (despite owning both) and I am really looking forward to them.

I've played through both several times, but I love them more with each play through. The PS2 is looking pretty muddy on my LCD, though, so it'll be nice to see it in HD. We're considering picking up a new TV again either around Christmas or next spring, depending on how things go between now and then, so I'm wondering if I'd rather wait until then and get one that will take advantage of the 3D.

I'm no 3D freak, but I'll bet both Ico and Shadow would be pretty awesome in 3D.

Thanks for this thread, I knew there are a lot of games I am interested in this season, but this helped me put them all in the same place...

Buying 100% / some on release day (rd)
Star Fox 64 3D
FORZA 4! (rd)
GOW3 (rd)
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (360 and ps3) (rd)
KOFXIII (rd)
Saints: The 3rd (rd)
NFS The run (rd)
Shinobi(3ds)

And if they make it this year...
Mario Kart 7
Super Mario 3D Land
Armored core 5

Maybe..
Dead Island(people I work with keep talking about it)
Rise of nightmares(I dunno, i bought a kinect last year, set it up, never used again)
Goldeneye 007 reloaded
Halo Anniversary
Tekken Hybrid
FF13-2
Resident Evil: op rac city

Maybe a PS vita as far as hardware is concerned...

you guys are crazy, did no one mention skyrim?? over like 300 hours of gameplay. thats the only game I am buying come holiday season for my 360. and dead island next month is a must for me. maybe starfox 3d and res evil op rac

Seems all the games these days are remakes or sequels! I am done buying the same games over and over! If I got anything it might be Zelda, but probably not. I really have switched from console to arcade.

...

Planning on getting:

Super Mario for the 3DS
Bonk (by Hudson) for the 3DS
Ico & Shadow of Colloseus reissue for the PS3

Also

PRINNY and PRINNY 2 for the PSP this week!

Jon

i have no idea what that link was?? but why would you say a waste of time, oblivion was hands down one of the best games I played on xbox 360 and this is set to blow that out of the water.

Read it next time you click it...Bethesda thinks they have the rights to the word "Scrolls" simply because of the Elder Scrolls. So they are suing Mojang for calling their new game simply "Scrolls" saying that people will confuse it with The Elder Scrolls. Really? It's a fucking digital card game, assholes.

Regardless...300 hours? You're telling me that's a good thing? I already don't have time to complete some 10-12 hour games, much less 300. I suppose it's impressive and well worth the money if you're going to play it, but I think I have better things to do.

Sorry, it's been a long morning already. I'll stop my rant now. That should be for a different thread anyway :)

Thats where I'm at on that, see, I'd love to get into dragon age and things like tht but it just doesnt happen anymore...

On the other side of that, I wish ME3 was out now, the way the story carries over but so far 1 and 2 had such good stories, but still different enough to be there own games...

On that note, just for fun, next year I'll buy ...

Soul Calibur V (never really got IV, may have borr'd it for a month)
Bioshock Infinite
Street FighterXTekken
Twisted Metal
Mass Effect 3 coll. ed.
Theres more, but then I'd be going to far into the next year..(borderlands 2!!)

My side story about Mass Effect....(off topic)

Back when the first ME was out, I heard that it was good from a gamer with similar taste as myself..
I saw the average gameplay was about 30/40hrs max(depending on completion activities)
But it wasn't until a black friday gamesstop sale several years ago where I picked it up for 9.99..(at least 3 years?! well before ME 2 anyway)
Long story short, loved it, great story, depth and worth more then the 9.99 it took for me to buy it..
Pre ordered MD2 coll.ed.
Will probably do the same for ME3

Only game I'm plunking down money for is Mass Effect 3... and that's not until next year

I'm wanting to play (but who knows if I'll actually get to it) :

Driver San Francisco
Fallout New Vegas
The Witcher 1 & 2
LA Noire
Mario Galaxy 2

I'm so far out of touch with the current releases. And I haven't put any serious play time into anything since New SMB Wii. Probably about time to just sell the whole collection off on eBay and stick to the arcade games.

It doesn't help always being busy though. And how most games these days require a huge time investment to get anything out of them. And hating 3D *really* doesn't help.

I may keep my DS though, finally got to put some serious play time in on the Trauma Center titles while stranded in Egypt for work, and pretty sure there are still some missions on the various CastleVania games I haven't completed. :D

Well holy fucking shit, look who it is.

But yeah, I'm in the same boat in terms of time investments, etc. I really wish I could put more time into these things, but at some point I have to admit that I'm not a kid anymore.

This real life game kinda sucks though, don't buy it. Maybe wait until it's in the bargain bin.
