What game is this? 1979 Midway 25" color vertical

Was looking at a big honking Electrohome G02 25" color monitor that I assumed came out of a Missile Command cockpit. But then I noticed the "HIGH SCORE" burn in was in the vertical orientation and it had a small sticker on the monitor: 1979 Midway Games.

So, what 1979 Midway game used a 25" veritcal color monitor? 1979 25" color? They were still making B/W Space Invaders back then! This one has me stumped.

there were some early Galaxians that used a 25"

I don't doubt you, but I don't remember any 25" Galaxians. Any details or pics anyone? Same as a regular cabinet but they stuffed a 25" monitor in there somehow?

I checked the manual for the one I posted, and it came with a g02...
But with the digital scoring on the side, it probably wouldn't have "High Score" burn in... well, unless the cab was converted...or the monitor used in another cab
By the way, that's a sweet looking cab, I like the woodgrain, and it's english style, wheel on the right, stick on the left

very early Galaxians had 25" monitors with 19" plastic bezels. THey did not use all the 25" real estate from what I remember.
I've only had one of these in my possession and I think I got that one back in the late 80's or very early 90's.

I have one also If you needed pics.

Yes, can you please post a pic. I'm guessing if I saw it I might remember it, but right now, I just can't picture a 25" Galaxian.

BTW, the burn-in was very light so it's hard to tell, but it does appear to be a Space Invaders type game, i.e., pointing to Galaxian over the Super Speed Race (but I sure like the effort to even find the driving game as a candidate).

According to a Midway service bulletin, they ran out of 19" monitors....and started shoving the 25" in there. Remember, Galaxian was a big hit.....and, one of, the first color games. I can't even think of another color game before Galaxian that used a 19" monitor.....all other 19"ers used black & white monitors. And if anyone has ever had to work on an original Galaxian 19" color monitor, you'd remember it......that frankenstein of a WG4500. Galaxian's with a serial numbers AFTER 20508 used 25"ers. The bulletin doesn't mention when they went back to 19"ers.

That's pretty cool info. I'd like to see a pic or two of the 25" galaxian myself.

I've been asking to see a picture of a Galaxian with an original 25" monitor for 7 years.
Not one pic so far.

So, if someone posts one, you'll have achieved something special. :D

I have had 3 Galaxians pass through with 25 inch monitors...they were hard to converge in the corners though....but picture looked pretty good....
I know one vendor who in the mid 90's bought a new flyback and put it back out on his route....it did look great...but $10 a week gross would take a while to get back his time and effort!!! Todd from TNT Amusements

I was looking at the Super Speed Race flyer and noticed Bally Northeast Distributing at the bottom. That brings back some memories. They became New England Coin-Op (NECO) and then Betson New England. Located in Canton, MA now and much smaller than the old days.

There was a Galaxian with a stock 25'' monitor at a Columbus auction years back (2002-2003?). That's the only one i've ever seen, but i know it was original.
