What Game Have You Pieced Together??

I pieced together a complete Double Dragon once. I acquired an empty dedicated DD cab for $20, and had to find pretty much everything. PCB, CP, Monitor, Jamma Harness, Power supply, transformer, marquee, bezel, coin door, power cord and drawer parts. Turned out pretty sweet tough:

Come to think of it, I also pieced together a DK, starting with a nice DK cab that had been converted to Popeye. My DKJR and DK3 were pieced together as well.

That came out very very nice!

BTW, I have ordered parts from as far away as Odessa (Russia) and have fabricated way too many wiring harness from scratch just to piece a game together but that's half the fun - right!
And nothing is better than getting the "final" part.........

I know what you mean about the final part. It's kind of sad when it comes in a way.

I traded a Toobin for a cnc cut new Dragons Lair cabinet from DPtwiz. I plan on making a multi laser disk cabinet using Daphne engine. I have all the programming stuff done. I've collected all the dragons lair cabinet parts as well. scoreboard plexi, a LPT port scoreboard display, all metal mounting parts, monitor, control panel, marquee, leaf joystick and buttons (all of that was a bitch! to find) I need to just assemble the thing and be done with it. It's been going on for over a year and a half now. My hangup at the momment is cab paint. I've got everything I need to paint, it's just trying to find time. I still need to order the side art and control panel overlay but that's all I need.

Did it twice. Both were converted to Arkanoid and I brought them back to life

Pac-man - other than the coin door, not a single pac-man part was left. Pieced this one together from multiple sources

Centipede - same deal

Nice job man! Too bad you don't have that Arkanoid 2 side art still. I need that.

Just curious.
I have wanted a Haunted Castle and Ghouls N Ghosts for a long time, but they are either really expensive ($550+) or impossible to find.
So I have started piecing the each together.

So far I have....
Ghouls N Ghosts - Bezel (excellent condition)
Haunted Castle- Marquee (nice shape)

Now I just need the REST of each machine!

Anyone else do this for a game??

Hey, I found a GnG CPO, SIDE ART set, and a MANUAL to go with your Bezel. ;)

Bought a Bagman cab with Tiger-Heli in it a while back. Have since bought Bagman marquee, control panel, PCB. The side art is still in pretty good shape, so for now I am finished with it.

Now I have to piece together a Tiger Heli.

I pieced together a Z-back cab into a SF Turbo Hyper Fighting/ SF 3rd Strike. Some one had made it into a vertical 3-in-1 multi JAMMA with a generic cpo and marquee. I had to find the original marquee brackets, marquee, control panel, bezel, pcb, and replace the monitor, joysticks and buttons.

I also pieced together a Neo Geo 4 slot. But all it really needed was a 4-slot pcb and a monitor.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Don't tell anyone. I just bid on the overlay. This is new. The other stuff has been on there for a long time. If I get a board, then I will invest the money on side art. so.... NOBODY ELSE BUY THAT CPO!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)

I bought a Capcom Bowling for $25 bucks that was originally a Centipede cabaret, the only thing left was the 120v side of the harness.

1. I converted an upright harness to work since the cabaret volume controls are a little different.
2. Found a marquee at an ops.
3. Bought a beautiful metal repro control panel from Scott Caldwell.
4. Used a badly flaked glass bezel for a while until I found another on eBay.
5. Cut a new cardboard surround from the scraps of the original.
6. Eventually tracked down a proper cabaret harness and installed that.
7. Installed a new Vision Pro (when I could get them for $105.00 each, sigh....)
8. Rebuilt the trackball, new overlay, painted bolts.

9. Probably best of all, bought a set of NOS Atari made sideart years ago on RGVAC when there was a debate if it ever actually existed, one guy actually had it. The operators had to send in a post card to receive it BITD, and of course most never sent in the card. Buying the art pre-dated buying the game by a few years :)

Ha! I know what you mean, for some reason, whatever I see something on eBay that I want to get, I also think that EVERYONE ELSE on eBay wants to get that exact same item too. :D

i've done many. right now a have a pc10,dk,dkjr,dk3. i pieced all of those together from empty cabinets. ive pieced together many machines over the years. i enjoy the hunt of looking for the pieces i need almost as much as playing them.
