Just curious.
I have wanted a Haunted Castle and Ghouls N Ghosts for a long time, but they are either really expensive ($550+) or impossible to find.
So I have started piecing the each together.

So far I have....
Ghouls N Ghosts - Bezel (excellent condition)
Haunted Castle- Marquee (nice shape)

Now I just need the REST of each machine!

Anyone else do this for a game??

I pieced together a qbert awhile back from nothing but a jammatized former qbert cab.

spent over $800 on that venture

and 50 hours

Im doing it now on a super pacman because i bought the cab as a golf game for $25.00. Still have alot of work left. I prabably would have been better off buying it complete

I pieced together a complete Double Dragon once. I acquired an empty dedicated DD cab for $20, and had to find pretty much everything. PCB, CP, Monitor, Jamma Harness, Power supply, transformer, marquee, bezel, coin door, power cord and drawer parts. Turned out pretty sweet tough:

Come to think of it, I also pieced together a DK, starting with a nice DK cab that had been converted to Popeye. My DKJR and DK3 were pieced together as well.

I got a TMNT board in a Berzerk cab for $25...decided i would put it in an NBA Jam cab that was converted to NFL Blitz '99 with 2000 side art? So...right off the bat, this is a total bastard lol.

Found out i had the 2 player UK version of TMNT, so ordered the 4 player ROMS for $30...found some original sticks and buttons for $65...then i figured out I dont have a 4 player coin door, but mine on the cab has knockout panels for the other 2 coin slots, so i'm going to create/rig that up with spare parts i already have...then the art is going to really blow the budget, I figure $250 or so for the CPO and side art. Be close to $400 in parts alone when I'm done....not counting labor and paint supplies. Not bad though, it's been a fun project so far.

I have about 6 more behind it.

I pieced together a MBWB that was missing:

- Monitor
- Marquee
- Complete top coin door
- CPO
- Monitor brackets
- Joystick

It was nice to get it complete and working but ended up selling it. It recently went up for sale on CL by the guy who bought it from me. I don't know if he ever sold it.

Awesome. We should get this moved to General though. My fault for putting it in the FS section... (no idea why it went there).

doubtful since he wanted over $800 for it.

Oh yeah, I forgot he marked it up twice as much as he paid for it. Haha. Well, I just hope he doesn't end up multigaming it or parting it out. When he bought it from me, he said it was his "grail." He did drive quite a ways to come get it.

Lots of them. I have done a Bubbles from the gutted cab up, a Robotron from a Splatterhouse conversion, a Joust from a Bubble Bobble, actually make that 3 Jousts from Bubble Bobbles, 3 Stargates from gutted cabinets, 2 Mystic Marathons.

With many of these it was the chase to find and acquire the parts that was the fun part.

ken

duramold blaster that was converted to 10 yard fight..

crystal castles that was converted to Knuckle Joe.

robotron converted to rastan..

started with just a tapper cabinet, after 6 years ,im getting closer. wiring harness, and bezel. and ill have it working.

I've been looking for well over year (very off and on) trying to piece together a Radar Scope cabinet.

I need to find a CP on the cheap.

I've been piecing together a Mario Bros widebody. I have most of the parts save the board and inverter board for the monitor.

I pieced together a PC10. I got it converted to Tetris/Jamma.

wire harness from one source
PCB from another (technically got one with wire harness, but didn't work)
Control Panel and Cage from another source
Marquee from another source
Flat White T-Molding from another source
two games from another source

That thing was becoming too expensive.

I'm kind of piecing together a SFII right now. I got it "complete" but really, really crappy. But, it's SSFII Turbo, so it will be worth it.

Yeah - Putting together a PC10 and filling all the banks can easily run you double what it would cost just buy a complete PC10. Kind of a crock.
