I see the term used but don't have the slightest clue what it means!

It's a Japanese universal cab...

They are usually smaller in size compared to their US counterparts. They are meant to be played sitting down. Why they are called Candy cabinets, I have no idea.

Because...they're delicious~!

You'll know you've discovered one when you find a washing machine that plays some random generic fighter game like Soul Tekken Fighter Anthology IV.
If you're really lucky, it will play a special edition generic fighter, like Dark Street Striker Alpha Turbo: Dangling Alpha Turbo Gold Deluxe.

Alas, the excitement will fade, when after 45 minutes of generic polygonal fighting, your underwear come back out looking exactly like they did when you threw them in.

Stay away from ones from Korea or China... You can pick them out because they aren't made by developers like Irem, Sega, Konami, SNK, Capcom, Taito or Jelco.

No.......they're Magically Delicious !

I've always wanted one , never can find them around here .

Easy score on the west coast... Check around.. Check neo-geo.com

I have a Namco Exceleena Blue which I absolutely love.
most of the japanese manufacturers made one so there are many to choose from.

Also many like that Sega Astros come in many CP formats. I have sort of a dream to have three, one each from Namco, Sega and Capcom. I have an Astro City also but need to find a Capcom impress (HTF) or a SNK Neo 29". The 19" kids Candy machines are also really cute. Capcom Cute and Neo 19.

Of note, some have rotatable monitors so that you can "easily" (some more than others) swap it to a vert format. My namco flips easy but ya got to deal with the bezel as it's screwed in. They are very huge feeling as they typically have you right against a 29" monitor.

Avidcollector (Kingsley) has a replica of a Namco Tekken cab that he sells. It's really nice looking. Dunno how fast that LCD monitor is w/ latency and all. It's like an alternative to a Viewlix cab that is just to DIE for if you can get SF4.

They look nice, but i've never seen one in real.. are they comfortable if you are tall? They look like it they could be bad for your back if you are any kind of tall.
