What do you think? Polished the site logo today. feedback please! primary name change

I am sure you all remember the old logo. I polished it up today and am satisfied.

I feel more comfortable changing the primary business name over to arcadecrt.com instead of arcadecup.com. I will keep the arcadecup.com domain hostname likely forever. If arcadecrt grabs that is great!, if not so be it.

In 2005 I went with arcadecup because my mind over thinks and the reasoning was to reflect my workmanship and ambition in relationship to sports cups such as the FIFA or hockey World Cup, U.S.A gold cup, etc. This of course meant to strive for the top and be the best of the best. Surprisingly, arcadecup is tied into some YouTube videos of street fighter tournaments.. interesting.

I sense most people do not really get it arcadecup.com name and that is understandable. you really do have to think sort of far out to grab its intended essence. Hopefully the change will be more fitting.. thanks for your thoughts.
Chad.

I often wondered where the name came from but my short attention span kept me from actually asking you. ArcadeCRT makes much more sense.

I like the logo/font. Always have. The new name reflects what you do much more.

As mentioned above, the 'X" in pixels is to dark and blends with the background too much. But while were talking about it, I kinda like if it were all the same color to match the other web domain names.

I'm not sure why, but all the different web domain names listed all around the main website name just seems kinda busy. Perhaps putting all of them down below the main name would work better for me? Use two bulbs, each placed in between the three names. The font might have to be shrunk to make them fit a bit tighter.

Don't get me wrong, I still like your logo, but you asked for honest feedback. :D

Ok will brighten up the blue.
I tried doing alternating rgb alternating text color however it didn't look so good imo.
here are some alternate layouts.. no don't hold back I want honest feedback!. thanks.

I like the 3 other webnames how they're laid out below the main one. All the uniform color looks really good.

Ok,
these are the two best so far..

wow the later one is already growing on me.. live on the website now.. i love the bulbs :)

I agree I like that one better too. Also the name is much better than ArcadeCup was, but i see why you picked that (now)... I'd never thought about what it means.

To be honest though, i stll don't think ArcadeCRT is quite right either. You don't really do tube stuff, just chassis stuff. NOW, if you want to take this opportunity to start having CRT's remade lol I'll support that new name.

I dont' have any better suggestions though; arcadeCRT is much better than Arcadecup.

Good luck!

thanks..

It's nice since it's a short string of letters.
it took a day to change those 2 letter on the arcadecup.com to arcadecrt beleive me.. pixel by pixel.
I do not have the original .pdf file as a guy made that graphic in late 2009 or so.

I think it fits since the core of my business is repairing the monitor boards that run on crts.
obviously the monitor board / chassis is directly related to the crt as they are one together.

Now how does Shell gas station make sense?. or apple computers?.. uhh, ok, apples & computers sure.. but everyone loves it and doesn't think twice about the name right!.. see how it works lol. those are just 2 examples off the top of my head i am sure there are some real bad names that dont fit the bill at all.

I hear ya Chad. The name of my landscaping business is "Myrmidon". The logo is an ancient Greek Soldier on a black background with white font. All my stuff is black. My buddy's would always ask me when I first started, "Myrmidon? What the hell does that have to do with landscaping?"
"Nothing" I'd say. "It looks cool. Sounds cool. And gets people to remember."

I hear ya man. It's good. It's just not GREAT. A lot of people call the monitor a CRT anyways, though.

You shoulda hired out getting that logo changed, noway I could sit there for two days fixing that!

it took about 8 hours with many breaks in-between.
it was cool, got to learn some more photoshop tactics :)

i dig the new logo, no better way to learn than to just jump right in :D

I think the whole apple and there contribution to the education system link them a bit...

Don't think you should have 3+ names for a single business... Having multiple domain names linking to the site is something different... But a business should have a single name... When the name keeps changing, it seems like they have gone out of biz or had to re-organize, etc...

I know the above does not apply to you, as your a single owner... But choose one name and stick with it!

Maybe have a poll on a good name....

CRT Doctor, Monitor RX, etc....

If the background colors blend... I use the drop shadow effect to make them stand out better...

Well arcadecrt is staying along with arcadecup.com since google and everyone has me established as that. If it evolves where arcadecrt dominates then I may drop arcadecup.com.. might take years or decade.

ya less clutter is good for the logo as you suggest.. so dropping arcadepixel.com may be a good idea right?. I like arcadecrt.com better than arcadepixel.com
