I've been curious about this game since I saw nocashvalue post his cabinet...

Price check on a decent to nice cab? Is the game something people get bored with? Is there any love for it outside of the collector rings (or inside for that matter)? I like the western theme and I am a fan of shmups. As I understand, there was never a dedicated cab for it so whatever cab it is in is normal, correct? Would the cab type make any impact on price? Say a Ms. Pac/Galaga vs a dynamo vs a zaxxon?

It's a kit game I believe. That's a custom cabinet that's awesome. I love the game a lot especially the way it's played with the 3 buttons for directions. I'm a huge fan.

Awesome game and nocash did a fantastic job on his.

This is my current project atm. I think I am going to do two colors on the stenciling sideart though.

You can buy the stencil from http://www.gamestencils.com/

The only downside is no free play mode and the Gunsmoke logo has the potential for screen burn.

I've got one, It's a fun game! Mine doesn't look as nice as his custom but that just makes me want to pickup a Pac-Man style cab and make it that nice....

More I think about it, it was $150. It can be a tough game but then I'm no expert! I can spend hours starting all over again.....and again....and again LOL!

My Gunsmoke is a rare variant. It uses only one fire button, and you fire in the direction (N, NW, or NE) the sheriff is moving.

I've only ever seen one Gunsmoke prior which uses this control panel set up (in contrast to tons of 3 button Gunsmoke cabs), but it's remarkable easy to use. Still, I have fond memories of the three button set up, so eventually, I may convert this machine to that style. My cabinet is a converted Astro Blaster (Gremlin/Sega).

If and when you decide to convert it, you will have to reburn roms 3,4, and 5 as they were changed along with some hardware added to make it a one button game.

I have the kit but not the special roms. I would like to get a copy of those. So when you decide, send me the special roms so I can read them and then I'll burn a set that you can use in the three button version.

It's a fun game with the 3-button configuration and worth having if you can spare the room, my only complaint is that it pretty much gets impossible in the later levels, I had a tough time completing the game even in MAME with the cheats!

As far as price it's tough to say (for me anyway), I guess given it's not too rare I'd say a confirmed working PCB would be around $60 and a complete game maybe $300 if in decent shape.

A Yoshiki Okamoto game. He also gave us Time Pilot, Gyruss, 1942, 1943 and Street Fighter II, among others. :D

Fun game. HARD game. Takes some work getting past the first level for newbs. Hell, I don't think I've gotten past level 2 and I've probably played the game a hundred times.

IMO, great game! But then again, I like vertical scrolling shooter games like Gunsmoke. Round 6 with Wolf Chief Shotgun is my favorite stage, I usually only can beat him without dying if I get there on a horse.

There was a nice conversion for sale in Denver a couple months back, I was willing to pay $300, but it sold before I could get it.:( It was in a Pac-man/Galaxian Midway cabinet with decent artwork. If not in that kind of condition, $150-$200 would be the highest I would go.

Can't you just change the button set-up with dip switches? I may be wrong but thats what would make sense to me.
